Behavior Challenge Thread

So I am being a responsible adult and canceling my Tree House Villas ressie and making one at CBR. My Aunt just got the news that her state job is being given a forced unpaid vacation this summer, so I am reducing the cost of our upcoming trip. Thank God I told the kids that the Villas might not be ready. They aren't so sad about not being in them if they think they are not ready to be lived in yet. Good news is that for the cost of 1 night in a THV, I get three nights in CBR with $ back. My sweet husband said, "Why in the world would you do that?" when I told him I was going to downgrade. I know he was being nice, but I secretly think he way going:worship: It'll still be fun. Any thoughts on the resort would be appreciated. I do feel a little better not being stressed about the $ I'm spending, so it's a healthy thing for me to do.

Hi! Just back from WDW! I am sure C&G's Mama will update you all later but wanted to answer DDM when I saw this. We stayed at CBR and found it to be very quiet (well other than the screaming meltdown one or two days from our own DS). We stayed in Martinique building 26 on the end and there were only 3 rooms on the second floor in that section.

The quiet pool in our area was especially nice as there were usually 10 people in there at the most. The Pirate pool was insane and we tried to steer them away from it as much as possible. But this is definately a place we would stay again.

WDW put a letter in each room about the Swine flu and the precautions they take and what we should do. There was a suspected case that was being tested while we were there but they kept emphasizing on every news program that there had been no definative answer and people should just be cautious.

Trip was great. Stroller was a godsend. I could not believe what a difference it made in our trip. We all enjoyed ourselves so much more including DS who said this was probably his 2nd best birthday ever. When we asked which one was better he told us he couldn't remember them all so he was only saying second best in case one of the others was better. :) Gotta love the 6 yr. old logic.

:goodvibes on the great trip-

trip report please!! after unpacking and doing 18 zillion loads of laundry and getting settled:)

Earstou: I am sorry about the loss of the dog. I had to have my 22 yo cat put down 3 years ago and still miss her.

Laurie- the dinner sounded YUMMY! I love Ribs- they don't love me though.

you gotta watch people - there are some strange ones out there :headache:
who pretend to be all nice and then BOOM they are NOT nice at all.
a good friends sister was all nice and sweet and then we found out she was a not -so -nice person. she very judgemental of others, but she was right in her beliefs- everyone else was wrong. I don't care for those kinds.

:goodvibes everyone have a good night- I am soo busy the next 2 days , :scared: I can't see straight.

DD is doing good with her chips. AND the room is still ok... BUT do NOT rearrange the stuffed animals- how dare I???

Hello all. As Koolaidmoms said, we're back. I have grand plans of posting an official trip report on the Disabilities board "The good the bad and the Ugly". Really not much bad and very little ugly (the stroller was the best thing ever for DS) Probably after this weekend sometime. We thought that after being gone for 2 weeks it would be a good idea to throw a bridal shower 3 days after getting home. :confused3 Fortunately we don't have to clean as we are having it at a park lodge but we are cooking. But it's a fairly small affair.

Tonight was swim lessons, tomorrow it's back to school for the kids and work for me. Koolaidmoms is also going into her P/T job tomorrow and starting to cook for Saturday.

One thing new we are doing is we have signed DS up for a Lego Playgroup with a local Autism group. It is for children ages 6 to 12. There are 12 children who work in teams of 3. We thought this would be good for him to be in a structured group with other kids on the spectrum and for us to. We'll see. The first group is tomorrow (Thursday).

We did have a great trip. I had my first Dole Whip (as float). It was quite yummy. "Talk" to you all again soon.

Stress is very high and I am reacting to something I ate today but not a wheat, probably soy. Nothing to worry about though.

I have a trip report pending but am hot and cold and tierd.

bad new and good news.

I left mom alone and Calvin was supposed to bring her dinner. She did not call to remind him so she ate soup and crackers. Progresso.

One of my heros is Bill who is a paraplegic. If he can cook dinner then why can't mom. Hearty soup, crackers and watermelon is a start and she could have had hot dogs and beans also.

Neurovariant worry wart report. I was so afraid of not fitting in but gave up this morning. No time to spend $100 on a new outfit and shoes are not friendly to my feet. I was so short of time I went in my nicer slacks and a baby blue shirt with lots of Disney characters. Some people dressed fancy, some men had button shirts but some were down right sloppy like me and looked like they came from the parks. I was spoiled and though somethings were not to my liking I think it was worth it. i have not had that kind of service and food in a long time.

One big step for momma indeed as she made dinner. I need to spoil her.:thumbsup2 I knew she could do it but wish she had called Calvin. I got a new phone so she is happy to not have to bang the telephone and it has caller ID.:yay:

hugs
Laurie:hug: :woohoo:

Ds was doing much better when he came home from school yesterday, he was talking again. We finally had sunshine after about two weeks of clouds, so that helped. Plus he was supposed to play an online game with a class mate. I'm not sure the classmate ever showed up online, but it didn't seem to bother ds!
He asked me if we could take the dog's leftover food to the animal shelter after school today, so he is coming along. This is another thing I wouldn't expect him to say, so he surprised me. He also asked me to keep her pillow by the fireplace for awhile. In the past, he would not have said anything, then meltdown when the pillow was gone. I was going to toss it, so I'm glad he spoke up. One meltdown avoided!

earstou sorry about the loss of your dog. Big steps for your son and I am glad to hear he is getting over the loss and that he came up with the donation himself. Even NT adults can suffer greatly over the loss of a pet. Pets are three for you in the darkest days and listen to you even when the world does not understand you. It is hard to loose someone who gives unconditional love like a dog. For many years there was a dog's ball and stuff on the top shelf and I do not remember whose it was but it sat there for decades, a reminder of a friend long gone.

Now for the event review and food porn sans photos, sorry. Someone on table 5 was taking pictures though.

I arrived at about 5:55 pm as the park was closing and guests exited through the east gate. Finally I saw the Food and Wine event table on the right side. Yes, it was supposed to be on the left but they moved it. I went to the table and was shocked that at least 10 people were there in park casual dress and some had sandals on. OMG was I going to dress up but then later the fancier dressed people showed up but most were park casual or buttoned shirt on men without jackets. I was told to go see Teri who was by the event sign which I did not see.

Teri is a very nice lady and we talked about park food for a while. Check in was a breeze. I was all worried to the point of high stress from fear that I would not get in, silly stuff but to me very important. anyone have a chill pill? I finially took the scooter out for a drive after waiting a while as I LOVE to drive that scooter in circles with my eyes closed, such freedom, sweet freedom. I waited in the shade of a palm tree and got to talking to Ron and Terri. I missed the first group so they just let 5 of use wander to the back.

I loved the drive at full speed without people jumping in front of me. If I lost some weight boy I could go faster, scary thought. I went up the path past the Blue Sky Cellar and that is such a pretty and relaxing trip. I got in line and a young dude went to the front for me and got the info on the elevator, he was not sure but I knew there was one. I got to the head of the line then was sent upstairs. He could not go with me as he was under age 21.

I parked along the south wall of the patio that juts out to the east of the restroom. I waddled up to the staff who seated me and introduced me to Stephen. I sweet man who seemed in his 20's or 30's and very helpful. On the second course a lady who delivered the plates had been assigned to me, wow. My own personal plate plopper.

I think all the tables except #3 or #4 was square and seated 6 people. I was on the west side of table 6 and on my left was a man. His wife was across from him the her sister across from me then to my right were a pair of ladies and friends who sat across from each other. It ws a nice warm afternoon and the wall on the south side was high enough to block cool air and the view but we had a great view of the Tower of Terror, the top floor of the Wharf area, lovely trees, and a beautiful view of the bay and at times the lights were on so it was so pretty.

The major wine problem was that the wines got darker and darker as time went on. The last dish was a plain yogurt type dish with very subtle flavours but the wine was too strong. Imperial, Gran Reserva, Rioja 1998 was actually a 1996 and I was probably the only one who noticed that the wine did not match the year. I do not drink but the people of my table know wine and were not drinking the darkest wine. The first was very pale blush. the second was a raspberry pink, the third is the very dark and very strong red wine then last was a milder white wine from what I remember as there were so many glasses on the table. The lady diagonally right of me said that the third wine was way strong and not good for the type of dish served as the dish was mild in flavoring. So basically liked everything but that pungent red wine.

We did not know what was on the menu as Crustacean Fume sounds like a mad lobster on the plate. Fume is a soup or broth and this was yummy. The others got a soup with saffron rice and deconstructed paella topped with a crustacean with its antenna and eyes intact. The lady opposite right of me freaked out and I explained to the server that she wanted the critter gone from her plate. I gave mine to the gentleman next to me and he tore through two of those. The lady on my right was going to take hers home but them eyes got to her also. I do not know if the sisters ate theirs. My reaction was not SID but more of a subconcious thing with things that look like when they were alive. There were these little scallop like things. We agreed on them being scallops but boy were they tiny flavorful and about the size of a kernel of unpopped popcorn.

I was very disappointed in the first course. Nothing on the first course should have had wheat or gluten. Instead of the pile of saffron rice I got a half of a gourd that was not edible. I could have brought scissors or a hacksaw blade to cut it and it was not my SID but just the gall of them offering me half a inedible gourd in place of that pretty yellow saffron rice. I can cook and cannot understand why they could not give me rice.
I ate the salsa like finely diced tomato and onion thingy. I WANT MY BLEEEPING RICE.

How hard is it to make rice without soy and gluten? I will gladly invite you to my kitchen and make brown Incle Ben's rice with tomato sauce and veggies. I usually saute in the pan some onions and peppers in butter. HOW HARD IS IT TO MAKE ALLERGEN FREE RICE? I did not go to school for cooking either. The plate was cleaned up but that dead wide-eyed crustacean was another complaint. Fancy meal with a Bostonian style crab-fest, hrmph. When 3 people do not eat the crustacean you is in trouble. Why not medallions of lobster or shelled mussels (yucky poo), shrimp, langostino, scallops and other seafood that is used in Spanish cooking like cioppini. sigh.

Break time
Major problem as I lost my E drive again.

Now for the next course and we had time to savour the food and wine and chat and then restroom breaks. Walking around it is sad taht the Vineyard Room is not used more often and could be used for romantic dinners and so much more. I thought Iwas going to be the messy one. One of the ladies had thre splotches from food on her light coloured blouse.

"Formatge y Xacuteria" refers to two spanish words for shops. It means Cheese shop and Meat shop especially a ham and sausage shop.
NOW YOU TELL ME. We all thought that was something on the menu and not something to describe the menu.

The ham was good but Lord give me scissors or a sharper knife. It was good sliced Serrano style ham. The Manchego cheese is made from sheep milk and was tasty but very dry and hard. I have SID issues with cheese and prefer it melted or soft. I skipped half of it as it was not worth the dairy reaction. The left side of the plate was a pool of honey oozing from a bit of yummy soft honeycomb. Lord them olives were spicy and heartburn city. I loved the olives but my SID freaked out over the oilyness and my stomach finally said no more to the spicyness. I love good olives and so wanted to finish them off but they were just too full of oil like, not sure what. I would drain the oil then cut back on the heartburn heat. I loved them and worked around the SID snit fit roaring inside me about all that oozing oil.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchego_cheese

I loved the second dish and there was a tiny edible flower in there. Lots of little touches in the dish and presentation. They gave everyone one but me the crostini and few were eating that. one inon each side and about the width of the plate and it was like very hard french breadsstick with oil and herbs apparently. Nobody at our table ate more than a taste. It was very hard. The rolls were ok but not many were eaten. Hard as a rock crostini, glad I am gluten free.

===============================
The herb roasted chicken was served with the skin on, oh joy. It was like the chicken served at the Blue Bayou. It was good chicken but please pass the ketchup. It looked like a breast filet bu thad that drummette attached with the bone intact. Nobody knew what the Warm Sausage-Bread Salad was. We got a nice Slim Jim which shocked us as the two ladies had never heard of Slim Jim. I ate half of mine and it was very good but way to greasy spicy like a Slim Jim. It was slightly flat and long and very good but I have had the same from a Slim Jim. sigh.

All of the above was served on white bean puree island that set in the middle of the tomato onion and garlic. The lady ot my right took my yellow cherry tomatos and gave them and hers to her friend across from me. So many wine glasses. I loved the small but not pearl sized onion, ooh the balsamic vinegar, it was so good as was the garlic and onion.

==============================

Last course was basically a plain round slab of yogurt that ws nearly frozen solid especially in the middle. It had a nice berry on mine and the others got a nice cookie like thing. BLAND and wet and just like tofu. the ladies on my right said it was supposed to be that way and to mix the sauce in it. On top was a ring of white chocolate with a lobster shell pink outside. That I loved, ooh so good.

I was not going to eat dairy unless it was really worth it like ice cream or grilled cheese sandwich. It was just ok for me as my SID did not like the wet slimyness of the block of yogurt like panna cotta or whatever that was.
The coulis was a syrup like sweet puddle with a bit of berries and sooo gooood, I wish I could have licked the plate clean. Now that on vanilla ice cream would have been heaven.

We all left half an hour early as they were all tipsy and some had second glasses of wine, one lady was dreading going to work and I had my bus to catch.
=-=====================
Summation

The event went well.

Problems were that they went with one dish meals that some guests could not or would not eat. Brick hard corstini, excessively spiced and oily olives, dry cheese, serrano ham that could not be cut with the knife we had, chicken was great but it had skin on it, block of frozen yogurt, NO ICED TEA, and NO RICE for me. I cannot get out of the France one. I enjoyed the evening and the food but it was not without some major flaws like serving a tiny crustacean that few dared to try to eat with their fingers and which was just like it was alive right now to the eyes staring at you. GROSS. I wish I had some bread for sopping up the soup and another Item. It was an excellent meal and the food was always the right temperature and the staff was excellent and friendly and helpful. Stephen once even refolded the napkins into their original origami whatever shape.
=================================

Best part of my day was going into Pirates and I stopped before entering. A little boy was squatting next to dad and looked hot and sad so I asked him if he was hot. He was, he said in a worn out tired voice. I gave him a round envelope seal that looks like a sticker and the boy put it on his shirt. I then gave his dad my celebration button and the boy was happier but you should have seen his face when I gave him my Stitch plushie keychain from my ECV basket. I told him taht Stitch was cool and would keep him cool.

I think that made my day to watch that boy perk up and feel better. It was a hot day Wednesday. botstrappers had the same female but a few new players and the Hulk Hogan wannabe lead was not there this time. Celiac meal at Carnation Cafe was hot dog bun, chopped steak and steamed cauliflower and broccoli because the salad dressing has soy. I poured on the ketchup, pepper and salt and that was all I ate as I am not a veggie fan. Next time I will bring me some fries and maybe a salad from elsewhere and some cheese. I am 98% soy free and 100% gluten free so why can't they put cheese on by steak sandwich. Part of my SID is that I love philly cheesesteaks. I love the melted cheese and cooked onions and peppers so this was the worst disappointment I have ever had in DLR dining this year. I just stared and veggies and plain steak. so sad. I think I will one day go back and will bring with me fries and sandwich fixings, and a cupcake for desert. What you think? The waitress took off the price of the iced tea so with tip it was $15. I could have had a chicken dinner with real mashed taters for that price or two cheddar burgers and real taters. so sad and disappointed at this restaurant.:guilty::guilty::guilty:

Cafe Steak Melt - Grilled beef slices, melted pepper- jack cheese and caramelized onion on grilled sourdough, served with potato salad, green salad or fresh fruit. - $10.29
.
That became:
Cafe Steak - Grilled beef slices on gluten free hot dog bun, served with steamed cauliflower and broccoli and a tiny wedge of cantaloupe - $10.29

===========================

After thought: my gluten free, soy and egg problems were addressed by the chefs as best as they could, probably. Never did they in advance address nor were they asked to address my other eating related issues such as the SID related oily olives and liquid on the plate. Never were they told not to serve a crustacean as it was when it was alive. It would have been nice to have had a neater plate and it would have been nice to have had bits of seafood instead of a bug eyed crustacean but I never said to them once all of my food issues.

Considering everything I have that limit what I can and/or wil not eat I think the meal was fabulous and I dealt with the issues very well. I would do this again and will be there for the one for France but not the others. This money for the most part came from my STIMULUS CHECK. That was my money to play with and mom is using hers to get herself a new television with the box in it to get the channels and hopefully DVD as well.

It will be farewell friends if I do get the DVD player built into the television as she will have me in the living room so much I will never see my computer again, lol. She will be happy so that is all that matters. Plan B is find a way to stack the television and DVD player, I have one somewhere in the original box in the garage unopened, then she can have her videos all day.

Hugs Laurie
Big steps for mom and me and less computer time and more time offline with my mother. sigh, I love the computer but mom needs me so much.:hug::hug:

You all know we are neurovariants but mom has no knowledge that she is damaged or unusual. She does not have the friends like I do on this board to help me group and change.:hug::hug:

I am not leaving disboard but just may end up with my mom a lot more. Love your neurovariants and your elders as they are very special people. Thank God for change especially for the good of my mother and to help her.

Laurie!!!!! wow :goodvibes what an awesome trip and food report!

my tummy was rumbling over some of the descriptions:)

Wow you sure do eat a lot and I would hate to be a buffet owner around you.
oh now I see the bolded section, whew, thought you were going to try to out eat me, lol.

How can you argue with Disney, they usually are right and we try to always obey them like hands inside the car, remain seated, and we always secure loose articles except annoying relatives.

big hugs for Pudge
hugs and chocolates and crustacean fume for all

Mehurchlady, lovely report. Very enjoyable for those of us who don't get to do that sort of thing but would really get a big kick out of it. I think it's good that you are making an effort to spend more time with mom. No sin in that, for sure.

Pudge, please share the salsa recipe if possible. I am always looking for ways to kick it up a notch and salsa in any form is my favorite. Especially if it's fancy and fast. Every week I make up a batch of chopped cilantro, a couple of tomatoes, a few green onions, and a lemon or lime squeezed over it and maybe a dash of balsamic vinegar and some hot sauce and lots of salt. Then I eat that on everything all week. I figure it hits most of the veggie vitamin groups. Plus it's ummy yummy. If you add in a few avocados, it's the best guacamole dip ever. A friend from Brazil gave me the recipe and it's addictive.

They had Jordan Almonds on sale last night for $5 a pound. My DS hates nuts in any form, but he's been noshing on those almonds. I'm willing to look past the sugar for the sake of the nut. :rolleyes1

I think I am going to make a second trip to WDW after we get done with our week at Cocoa Beach on the 12th. I figure it's just a few dollars more per day to get extra days past a three day pass, so if I have to drive through Orlando anyway, then I might as well stop and spend a few more days solo with the kids and hang out at the parks. That way we can not go "commando" when we are with Aunt and Uncle for two days the week before. DH said that sounded fine to him. I think the pugs will be sad with us gone for 2 weeks, maybe just catch up on beauty rest. I'm sure DH will catch up on his sleep and sports with us gone, though. Any thoughts on a hotel we should try to book for those few days on property? I was thinking Port Orleans. I just want something quiet and cheap.

I got the yucky head and chest gunk. It knocked me for a loop. Had to use rescue inhaler a ton over the last few days. I wonder what it is? Had a low grade fever, achy bones, and coughing/sneezing as well. My chest was/is killing me, not a lot of phlegm, but really irritated. Throat feels/sounds like laryngitis, but not normal to have bad lung feeling with that, I thought.

I did see Star Trek on the opening day. I loved it, but I am a huge JJ Abrams fan. (anyone watch Fringe?) There was one "nooky" scene, but it wasn't bad. Daytime soaps have similar views. I don't know if my kids would stay into it, but if they were a little older, I would take them. Take your DH's or just yourselves. It was laugh out loud funny in a few spots and had good special effects.

That's all for now.

DisDreaminMom thanks for the update. I hope you feel better soon.:sick::hug:

My cousin's husband abhors onions. The exceptions are onions cooked whole in a stew where the onion is removed and onion rings. You could never get me to eat figs and I tried apricots but fig newtons and apricot jelly is a different story.

Tiny steps forward.

Right now I have my food memories but would like to back out of France event after this last one which in my opinion was great but was it worth all that money. My nose hurts and my eye is bugging me, yep another immune problem and thus another wheat reaction probably. During the event I did have a high pulse once and figured it was the excitement. Mom has crumbs everywhere.

I AM IN BIG TROUBLE, VERY VERY VERY BIG TROUBLE.:rolleyes1
Until my check comes in from the stimulus money is tight but that is not the problem.
I promised to take Calvin on Mother's day to DLR which will be packed. So what you may say. Mom heard of our plans and was very upset that I am not spending Mother's Day with her. OUCH now I am in big trouble with mom and she is rightfully angry, how could I ignore her. I guess call Calvin and explain. I wonder fi I can get a cheap TV today and make mom happy again.

hugs
Laurie

One old neurovariant for trade, will take 5 kids for one sweet old mother.:lmao:

I've finally started a trip report on the "regular" DISabilities Board. I posted a couple of pictures but as I mention in the report we need to find our memory card that has most of the pictures, we just haven't had time to unearth everything yet.

DDM, hope you're feeling better.

MeChurchLady. Thanks for the trip report, sounds yummy. Hope things look up for you and mom.

DS went to his first Lego Play Group on Thursday and loved it. It was our first experience with an Autism group. It was good for us. He can't wait to go back (neither can I).

Looks like I have a trip report to read!

Also, disdreaminmom, by 'nookie' please tell me you mean 'pon farr'. If so I may need to put away my Star Wars snobbery for a few hours. I can't deny loving me some Spock. That'd be... illogical.

I wanted to share a few photos J took yesterday. He got his butt out of bed at 5:30 yesterday morning (well, I got his butt out of bed, but then I went right back to sleep :rotfl: ) to drive an hour and photograph this year's ducklings. One of the photos he took last year won $1000 in an art show, and, well. There is much cute to be seen.

His photography is beautiful, and he credits his Asperger's for this. He is constantly putting the world in order, and putting a camera in his hands meant that he got to show that order to other people. Of course, he has a bit of a pedigree as well, and that helps. His grandfather on his mother's side was a very well known and greatly respected White House photographer, and one of his uncles works in Washington as well. Jake just got his Senate press credentials a few months ago :)

These are a bit small, and really don't do the larger versions justice, but I didn't want to slow down anyone's browsing experience :)

Anyway. Here are some ducks. And one of our cats.

And this is Jinxie. She was just going to be with us temporarily, along with another cat we assimilated into our then-small brood, and the two of them surprised us last year by having 9 kittens between them. J fell in love with every last one, so they stayed. She's a god mama.

Happy Mother's Day, all you hardworking mothers in this thread. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Pictures are great; my niece (aspie) is a very good photographer also. Our exceptional visual abilities tend to help with this (not me though).

Oh by the way we have learned also that there is no such thing as a “temporary” cat.

Happy Mother's Day right back at you. The hardest part is waiting for them to decide to appear.

The pictures are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing them with us. My favorite is the first one with the duck flying right above the water. Koolaidmoms liked the one with the mom and babies.

I was in Pogo with them two and they were talking about duck shooting.:lmao:

1. Donald Duck gets blasted.
2. Jake is out doing an Elmer Fudd imitation while shooting ducks.
3. Play Pogo's Quick Quack game that involves duck target shooting.

OOOOOH
Photograpy and who would have thunk of that lol.

Happy Mother's Day everyone

Mom is doing ok now that I canceled the DLR trip and I was very ill this morning, waves to God, ouch. I am thinking of getting a television for her today but that requires moving a wheel chair, a microwave cart, emptying the microwave cart, moving the television and dresser, and then instaling the new television. :laundy:

Mom is a pain in the neck but this board helped to realize why she is the way she is and now I see why she is a little girl at times. How many times do I have to tell her something before it sets in her brain? Dont know but with lots of patience I keep repeating myself and hoping what I said sticks in her brain. Thank you all for helping me to finally understand her and be able to help my mom.

I will be off staring at them pretty pictures.:thumbsup2

Hugs and coffee and chocolates

1.LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Photos:) I have NO talent in taking pics- my thumb is always in the way or things are crooked..

2.Love the trip report too! so how did you like the dole whip?? I get one next Sunday we are going for DD's *unbirthday*

3. YAY! on the Lego Play group-

4. Being so close to Disney I mean Cocoa is an hour from the Mouse -I mean Cocoa beach is CLOSER than I am:) GO go go!!!! to Disney Just hop on the beach line ( 528), it will take you to 417 and right to DISNEY- I have stayed at PO and it's nice. I only got 1 night there. I really Like the Poly but it's not afforable except EVERY Now and then 3 years of saving pennies:)

5. I am a major Star trek geek - Kirk, 2nd generations, deep space 9 etc... I annoy people with Star trek stuff:)

Dip recipe:
1 block cream cheese softened
1 cup salsa ( I make home made too)
Mix together until blended- add 1 cup shredded colby jack - I add a garnish of cilantro and olives to look fancy
serve with chips like tostitos scoops

No I think I have to argue with Disney - my dd is only going to be 11 that IS not an adult:) I am also sorry you are sick. I like poppit on pogo

I think the poker chips have lost their appeal- her room exploded this weekend. although we had soo much going on- her schedule was outa wack and she really likes a set schedule.

I got a whole box set of Victorias secret vanilla lace body lotions, soaps, mists etc.. :goodvibesfor Mom"s day:)

 to all and hope for a great week:)

Love the trip report too! so how did you like the dole whip?? I get one next Sunday we are going for DD's *unbirthday*

3. YAY! on the Lego Play group-

LOVED the Dole Whip. I'm hoping to get on in the next few days to continue the report.

One thing that happened on this trip and I can't remember if koolaidmoms posted this here or on her blog. I looked at her and said I realize he is "different". Now don't get me wrong I've all along knew something was "off". But as DP says, I'm not in the classroom with him watching him interact (or in his case not interact) with the other children. At LEGO play group he felt "normal", because he was like the other kids there. Children were all over the spectrum. There are 12 kids, 11 boys and 1 girl (although she was not there) and there's a waiting list.

At Disney, probably because I spent so much time with him I really saw it. This same group has a day camp in conjuction with the Local YMCA at their camp location. I'm hoping I'll be able to get him a 2 week slot. He'll continue to do his other activities, but this feels like the right next step for now.

I had to cancel the trip with Calvin then went to bed crying very hard and it was a full blown melt down. I had to cover my head with a blanket to get to sleep and even left the heater on. I slept 6 hours and it is major stomach related food related problems. Too much info that would gross out everyone.

4 pm I headed to Wal-Mart and got a 19 inch, 8 pound LCD TV that is missing the batteries and pan screws so no way to use it right now. Mother's day so I stopped at Outback steakhouse.
Then stopped at CVS for a card and flowers and a white spotted cheetah type plushie that is smallish and cheap which mom loved.

We split the dinner. The pure meat part of a 12 ounce New York steak so she got about 6 ounces of pure meat and I got the fat and tough parts. She got the broccoli and squash while I ate two pea pods. We split a sweet potato with butter. I then took the tiny to go cup of whipped cream and emptied it onto the lid. I made her a mini hot fudge sundae with whipped cream, hot fudge, some chocolate shavings on the whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, and a bit of brownie. I got a larger version but saved the brownie for later, it is gluten free.

I then started working on the television and DVD player. I have the DVD player hooked up but need some pan screws to attache the television to its base, sigh. We watched Ratatouille then Little Mermaid. She is like a little kids with joy of the movies but she fell asleep and would wake up. I turned the movie off and she wanted it left on.

AS i was leaving mom could not believe me about the television so I brought it in and laid it on her thighs. 8 pounds and one wow that is so lightweight. She is so happy and all her fussing was for nought. Just need the pan screws, do some assembling, find all the DVDs in the garage, and then hook it up. I need a longer antenna cord but it is an old flat one that I am not sure how to extend safely to her television.

Day started with me being puking sick and crashing hard then ended with mom asleep and blissful. :yay: :cloud9: :flower3:

hugs and coffee and hoping your day was a good one.
Any small steps?
Loved the trip report from Bok Choy Momma and it sounds like typical kids, lol. Tag teaming on parents, lol.
Cute ducks and glad none were hurt.
