I'll try to help as much as possible.
What time of year are you going? Have you checked
www.mousesavers.com? They will often offer discount codes.
Tickets:
Have you considered getting 1 10 day hopper and 1 Annual Pass?
The cost of a 10 day hopper is $242.00 and an Annual Pass is $442.00. Even though the cost of the AP is $200 more, there are tons of benefits to it. 1st you can get AP discounts for rooms, up to 45%. You can also get discounts at certain restaurants. Also, if you have an AP, you can purchase a Disney Dining Experience card for $60. This card entitles you to 20% off meals. (if you do a search for Disney Dining Experience (DDE) you can find a list of all the restaurants that are included - and it's a bunch!!!). Anyway, if you spend $200 more for an AP, you will easily save that much on the discounts. I hope this makes sense? It's possible with the savings, that you could upgrade to a deluxe resort if you wanted.
I wouldn't spend the extra money on tickets for water parks & pleasure island if you won't go. If you decide to go, you can just pay for that one time.
Also, go to
www.allearsnet.com, they have pics of all the hotels that are fun to look at and also have menues of all the restaurants with prices. I hope this helps some and I hope I didn't confuse you with the AP & DDE. We have AP's & the DDE card. Last year, we saved over $350 just on food for 7 days, of course we also had a 5 & 8 year old eating.
