Hi again

So I'm trying to find replacements dates for our cancelled holiday (can you tell I'm very impatient!) and really don't have too many options, mostly because DS starts school in August.

As much as I like the theming of Halloween (I've been at that time before I had kids), I think my kids would be a bit frightened of the pumpkin men etc, they aren't big Halloween fans as it is.

I wouldn't go in August because of the crowds and the rest of June is pretty much out for DH getting time off work, DS has nursery graduation and lack of availability at Cheyenne and Santa Fe.

So this leaves me with the beginning of July, Sunday 3rd to Wednesday 6th or Tuesday 7th to Sat 9th (ds birthday). I have seen that this is the first week of the French school holidays but there are annual pass blackout days too so wonder if this means it won't be too bad?

Any thoughts/comments welcome :thumbsup2

Hi, We are at dlp for the 4-7th July and I have noticed the blackout AP dates. I was told the reason for this was to prevent the park being so busy at the start of the French School holidays. Not 100% sure if this is the case but that is what the dlrp booking line told me.

Blackout days are set up because they expect the park to be (very) busy and they would rather have people in paying rack rate and no doubt spending more than AP holders who are in the main local (IDF and Northern France for the Classic/Francillien APs) go more often and spend less

You have Spain on holiday from the 23/06, Italy the 11/06, The Netherlands and Belgium and France all start that first weekend of July

So yes it will be busy but isn't the park open till 22.00 by then so you could do lots in the morning (EMH) see shows, eat a nice sit down lunch, swim at the hotel, go shopping, have a rest and then go back to the park and enjoy the evening ?

Don't forget that the heat could slow you down faster than the crowds (I mean look at today, it's going to be 28° and we are just into June !) so resting up a bit in the afternoon could be a good idea :thumbsup2

I went 12-16 July 2 years ago (which also included the Bastille Day holiday on the 14th), and yes it was busy, but not so much that it affected our enjoyment at all. Legoland Windsor which we went to the week earlier was much busier in terms of queues.

However, you might be better off delaying a week and going after the 9th July - the fireworks and evening parades don't start until then (that is why we are going 10-14 July this year) and the electrical light parade - 'Fantillusion' I think it is called - is well worth seeing.

The English schools are still not off that week too, so it will be less busy than going at the end of July or August - one of the (few! ;) benefits of living in Scotland!

We too are in Scotland and going the 14th - 21st of July, We do expect it be MUCH busier that our last trip in Sept BUT as MichelinMan says the fireworks and evening parades along with the late opening will make up for it

Hope you have a fab time whenever you decide to go :cool1:

Thanks for your replies. We have booked 3-6th July :cool1: , we have early morning and late evening flights so we'll have full days in the parks. Can't wait now! Thanks again.
