Hi everyone :goodvibes

I'm beginning to think this may be the way to reduce the massive cost of our next trip . So would some wonderful diser be able to give me step by step directions on how & where to obtain annual passes.

We are 3 adults & 2 children. 1 adult is my dd who has an intellectual & physical disability and the younger children are 10 & 3. We are hoping to go for Halloween mid term & will be probably booking the adapted room at either the SL or SF.

Or maybe a family room off site? Never been offsite before!

Does the pass mean we don't pay in again during that year, we just pay for accom?

Apologies but I really haven't a baldy notion :confused3

Thanking you all :thumbsup2

first things first - how much is your trip with all of you booked in for your October dates in either the Santa Fe or Sequoia Lodge? Once you have those figures, we can help you figure out if one, or more, annual passes would be a better deal :).

I don't think annual passes will work out any cheaper for us anymore now we have to pay full price we are looking at 800 euros a year just for annual passes. We need one with EMH and the blackouts always tend to have a day during our stay so by the time we buy a day pass its the same price.

Am I right that if you stay on site that you can use your hotel pass to allow you in with an annual pass even on blackout days?

Completely right. This is what we are doing all year. We booked just me into the DLH for a pre Christmas break and I added DH, DS and DD on to the room booking and then bougt AP's for them. DH got a Dream AP and the kids Fantasy ones. We did it this way so that DH got the highest discounts and extra's for us as a family - we didn't need the kids to have them too.

We are booked into the SF next month (again just me booked in) for £168 for 5 nights and we will add the others on and their AP's will let them in whether there are blackout days or not (I haven't even checked!).

We will then go on the same basis for Hallowe'en. I am booked into The Cheyenne and DH has his dream AP and the kids will get in on 31st October (daytime) as I have the hotel easy pass.

OMG I'm totally confused after reading the other replies here :scared:!
Reservations gave me a quote of €1,480 for 4 nights 5 days during Haloween mid term for the SL. Or €100 cheaper for the SF.
This was in adapted rooms so 2 connected rooms.

I also checked online for non adapted rooms and got over €4,000 for the SF!!!!

ok - October mid term - is that the week which includes Halloween itself, 31st October? What are the exact dates of your proposed trip?

Sorry for delays I'm sneakily replying in work ;)

I would like to go for any 4 nights between Fri 24/10 & Sun 01/11. I was given that quote for Tues - Saturday of that week.

Thank you :goodvibes

Honestly, at that time of year, the quote you've got of 1400 euros or thereabouts for a room onsite which takes all of you, and includes 5 days park tickets, isn't likely going to be beat much by getting annual passes.

This is mainly because you'd need Dream annual passes for all 5 of you if you were staying offsite, because 26th and 31st October are blackout dates for the cheaper annual passes this year. Dream APs cost 159 euros each through promoparcs bought in advance, or if you are all one family resident at the same address, they cost the same price at DLP, because you get a family discount of 20% on each pass bought there (full price is 199 euros).

So you're looking at around 800 euros just for your park tickets.

Now, obviously if you intend visiting DLP more than once in a 12-month period, this could work out saving quite a lot of money after the initial outlay, especially if you can get a good deal on offsite but nearby accommodation (loads of apartments take 5 near DLP, plus the Magic Circus I think does rooms for 5, and of course the Explorers does). Try having a look on travelrepublic for hotels/apartments in Disneyland Paris - quite a few should come up.

Its very easy to get your APs at DLP, so please don't let the process put you off.

There is a way APs may save you money on your upcoming trip, even if you decide to go onsite and stay in the adapted room - would you consider phoning DLP and asking them how much it is for the adapted room for one adult and the 3-year old (I have a reason for asking ;)).

We had 5 dream passes for 3 years and made many trips staying offsite - if we had been onsite then it would have been maximum one trip a year instead of 3 or 4

There are many places to stay around Disney from apartments to hotels.

Interesting, very very interesting ;)

I will check that out this eve when I get home DLP Daft but wouldn't I need to book my eldest in too as she is who we need the adapted room for ?

i don't know to be honest - you could always ask how much for one adult, your eldest, and the 3-year old in that case?

Hi again

I'm very sorry for the delay I've had a bit of a mad week!
Ok so I called reservations back with the above info and have since become completely flustered :rotfl:!

I can't book the adapted room with just myself and my toddler, with my dd who has the intellectual & mobility disabities I can. For just the three of us , I think, they wanted to put us in one side /one room of the adapted room (they're usually two adjoining rooms) which is no good as we still have two others. We would then need to book another room for those 2.
With all the to-ing & fro-ing it was working out much the same price.

I think :confused3
So confused !

So I looked at Ap's. I think to go at Halloween we would need the dream pass to avoid black out days then, is this right?

I know if I arrive up to the gates sans ticket I will get a reduced price ticket for dd1 and 1 free carer ticket. Is anything like this available with the AP's?

We would always be bringing dd1, she's the main reason we go so please don't judge me for trying to reduce costs with her disabilities. I always find this difficult to ask for and generally don't but come on its DISNEYLAND :goodvibes

Thank you x

yes, you would need Dream passes at Halloween week.

I think you can still get a free carer ticket if your daughter has an AP, but you'd still have to go to the ticket booth each day to get this (but I haven't done it, so don't quote me on this).

Here's the reply I received from CRO just in case anybody needs it in future :goodvibes

Here's the reply I got from DLP for anyone interested in the future maybe.

,

Your disabled daughter can benefit from 10% discount at the gate for an Annual Pass.

You can either go to the Donald Desk (open until 1.30pm) or the Guest Relation Window which are both located at the main entrance of the Disney Parks.

You can also get a free park ticket for one carer by showing her Blue Badge or the DLA letter or medical letter issued in the last 3 months signed and stamped by the doctor, certifying the disability and stating the need to be helped by a third party in order to get around.

For now, the discounted rate for your daughter for an Annual Passport Dream is 179€, and 143€ for a Fantasy.

To get information and quotes for a stay, I suggest to call our Central Reservation Office at 08448008111.
