Before & After

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to post some before and after shots of their pictures. I see some fantastic shots on here all the time, I know some of them have been edited in Lightroom or Photoshop and was hoping to see examples of before and after if anyone would be so kind?

It would give me some hope that I could also achieve similar results (Obviously I need to take a good shot first, I know editing doesn't make the picture)

Shot Setup
Tripod Mounted D40 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 @ 18mm
ISO 200
1/8 sec to 1/400 sec @ f/11
Stacked ND Filter and Circular Polorizer to get slower shutter speeds in the bright sunlight.

Applied lens correction in LR3, then used Photomatix to merge the 7 exposures, then did final tweaking in LR3.

Lol that is very true, I can see the logic there.

Nice, thanks. The reason I am asking is because I am getting some new gear this week before we go to WDW and on the Disney Dream and having seen the photo somebody took of the Mickey pool at 6am, I would love to try and attempt something like it.

Maybe it's because I know next to nothing, but it looks so vibrant for a dark setting that the colours look like they have been put through a filter. Maybe they haven't, but that's why I want to see how the shots look beforehand so I know if I have something that can be edited

As long as I can get one great parade shot and 1 great fireworks shot, I will be very happy.

That's the one and it is amazing! It got my vote in the poll for sure. I sent the link to my fiance for her to check out later, trying to justify why I should also get a tripod and shutter release etc

I found another before and after. The before has some post processing done, but not much.
