Prior to a recent visit I saw several posts asking about and giving info on beer at Universal. Just got back and wanted to give a little update.
I took more notes at IOA.
Sadly, the Enchanted Oak is completely gone for the construction of Harry Potter. That is old news. Hopefully something similar will return with HP's opening. It seemed to go with the theming.
There are 2 happy hours at IOA:
The Watering Hole, which is back by Jurassic Park. It is from 3p-5p.
$4.50 Imports (Heinekin)
$3.50 Bud and Bud Light
These are in 20 oz cups
They also have Amber Bock and Shock Top, but these are $6 - not on special.
The Backwater Bar is near the front.
It's happy hour is 4p-7p.
$4.50 Shocktop and Yuengling Lager
$3.50 Bud and Bud Light
Also in 20 oz cups
They also have Beach Bum Blonde and Michelob Ultra.
Bottles: Anchor steam, Bud, Bud Light, Bud Light Lime, Coors Light, Grolsch, Heinekin
There are scattered beer stands with the more common cans, Bud and Bud Light draft. The only one at IOA that was any different was "Ale to the Chief", a stand near the Ripshaw Falls ride, had Sam Adams Summer Ale.
Universal of course has Finnegins, but I forgot to take notes on the happy hour specifics.
I know I am spelling many of these wrong, but you get the point.
I don't think getting the souvenir cup is a good idea. I know that the whole point is you reportedly get 20 oz for the 16 oz price, but many of the drafts were served in a 20 oz cup. Just my opinion.
Enjoy!
