Just thought I'd let you all know what's happening regarding Chelsea, so Far she is waiting to go to booth hall for her 2nd check up this is on monday (So I can tell you what Miss Davies says and thinks what will happen etc more on Monday).
She has been referred for a wheelchair we are awaiting an appointment, for her to be weighed and measured Dr thinks they will be more appropriate than a buggy, as it's more sturdy etc.
She is on Stronger painkillers, and her limp is always there some days more prominent the other's as not.
I have been in contact with a great lady who runs a perthes group in Hull. she has been great.
Chelsea no longer does P:e in school and is very limited, this is just to make sure she doesnt cause any damage.
It will take 18-2years in full, then we will know if she will suffer in later life.
Kids are Kids, and she is a strong little thing, she isnt letting it get to her, and is trying to be as normal as she can.
I am going into hospital on 2nd June (18 days before we jet off), to have a camera inserted into my throat, I have been suffering since Xmas with infections, and sore neck and itching, Dr said it could be an allergic reaction...so I am not sure, he has said on numerous occasions it isnt cancer (but you know me, such a worrier, always thinking the worse) so on that note, we are all falling to peices, and the only thing keeping us all SANE is going to florida in june
So thats a update will tell more on monday.
****************************************************
We went today, and seen the Surgeon (differnent dr), he is quite happy with Chelsea's movement in her leg, and can see a slight improvement, he basically said its waiting and seeing, he said if she does become stiff he will introduce physiotherapy, and then do surgery.
He said 100% of the ball joint as collapsed, he said she is in stage C (there is stage's A,B,C I presume A is mild, B is moderate and C is severe?) which is severe as it can get, and it can only get better from here on, he is happy we told the insurance for our florida holiday as like he said she could wake up one morning stiff and cant move and we will need hospital treatment so being covered is the best option he is quite happy with her going and said have a wonderful time and will see us in 3months.
He said she needs to rest up and take it easy no long walks etc, she has a wheelchair appointment on the 27th of this month
He said to put her into swimming lessons, and to take her reguarly, so We are going to sort this out.
But other than that it can only get better can't it? Hopefully.
Thank you everyone, I am just happy she is progressing positively, it was hard knowing she developed perthes but it seems to be coming undercontrol
Thanx
