I'm so afraid that when we go to HHI next February that hardly anything will be open. We were looking forward to the Oyster Factory (looked too crowded last year in March), Captain's Seafood, the German resturaunt, Greek resturaunt (I think it's called "It's Greek to Me"). But I have such a fear that we'll get there and everything will be closed up. Now I wonder-why was it I chose February? We're not beach people, so the cooler weather is OK, but we do like miniature golf. But will that be closed too? Help! I'm second-guessing myself here.

we were there for president's day last year. Many restaurants were still open. We went to a place called Magnolias and Giuseppe's which I owuld not reccomend because of the extremely poor service. The shopping malls do close earlier and some of the beach stuff is closed down. Hilton head has become more of a year round place since Sun City and Bluffton have gone up. We found February to be a great time to be at HH. We even had 70 degree whether one day and were able to spend time at the pool which is heated. Activities at the resort also are continued although on a somewhat reduced schedule.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with activities in February at all. The pool is heated and can be enjoyed if the air temp is tolerable for you.

Most of the main restaurants and shops are still open, although there are a few that do take a winter hiatus.

The recreational staff at the resort will have programs scheduled and can make suggestions for other activities if needed.

I'm sure you'll find enough to make the trip enjoyable!

Hello,

I live on Hilton Head soooooo....

Most everything is still open in Feb.
A few of the finer resturants close for the winter.

For a good dinner I would suggest a small resturant in Pineland Mall called the Labestro.
It is very good.

If you like cold water you can go to the beach. ;)

But there are plenty of things to do here in Feb. I am pretty sure Shelter Cove still has a fireworks show on Tuesday nights.

There is always golf and tennis if you like that.

Come to think of it I live here and I can't think of anything to do. I never go to the beach, don't have much time for golf, don't play tennis.
Well there is always the stuff you can do in your home town
Movie Theater
Putt-Putt

Oh, I know shopping.

Everyone loves shopping and there are plenty of places to spend money around here. ;)

Have fun on your trip.

I'm really not worried about finding things to do. DH loves to golf, and I know HHI has a lot of golf courses. Right now he's having such a great time deciding where to play this year. And we're bird-watchers, the main reason for our trip. Last year we saw 40 new species (we live in a very different climate, so many "commoners" for you were new species for us). But I was very concerned about the resturaunts.
BTW, I envy you living on HHI-it's so beautiful there!

LOL

Locals sum it up in one word:
EXPENSIVE!!!!!

Other than that it isn't bad. I am not sure I want to raise my kids here. They may end up with a false sense of reality. LOL

At one time I played a good bit of golf. As time progrssed I find myself with less and less time. Come to think of it I gave my clubs away about 4 or 5 years ago. Then again that is also around the time I was married and Sabrina doesn't like golf. Who wants to go by themselves?

Anyway there is always something going on down at the south end.

FYI, if you want to save yourself a dollar don't take the cross island parkway as it is a toll. It is about equal distance to just go the other way to the Resort.
