Well, we were finally here. It's 2:00 am the morning we're leaving and we're waking up the kids to get into the car. Of course we discussed ahead of time the sleeping arrangements for the ride to the airport (almost a two-hour drive) but of course DD12 and DS13 had to bicker about it. Oh well, we're going to Disney!! After a year of planning, garage sales, dreaming, driving everyone nuts at the diner I work at, and scrimping we were on our way. Our flight was uneventful and on time - we arrived in Orlando at 10:30 am. We were supposed to be met by a van from Happy Limo at the airport but I couldn't find them. I called the company and the woman told me that they had upgraded us - FREE OF CHARGE - to a Hummer Stretch Limousine!! It could seat 20-people and had a disco floor!! It was too big to fit into the pick-up area so we had to walk a little bit to get to it. The look on the kids faces will stay with me forever. They were so psyched! DH had quite a look also. What a way to start the trip. When we arrived at the hotel (Sheraton Studio City on International Dr) the bell man told us he thought we were movie stars - unfortunately the closest movie stars we resembled was the family from the Roseanne sitcom.
Our room was on the 21st floor with a glass wall and we had a bird's eye view of everything. So we settled in and went down to the pool for awhile. We were all pretty whipped.
Later on we got on the I-ride which takes you up and down all over past every franchised resteraunt, midways, World of Disney Stores, tourist attractions, SeaWorld, and some awesome malls and hotels. Had something to eat and just hit the sheets early.
