Beef Jerky and customs

I seem to have gotten myself addicted to a specific brand of beef jerky while I've been here.

I've bought myself a supply to bring home and now I'm wondering whether I'm allowed to bring it back to the UK.

I know fresh meat is restricted but this is processed and cooked and packaged up.

Does anyone know if I can bring it home? Xx

Looking at both the Customs and Defra websites it seems that you can't bring in any meat products at all, processed or not. (Defra even mentions Beef Jerky specifically.)

Thats annoying as was going to buy some out there too to bring back as its so expensive over here
