A few months ago I purchased some meat which is labeled as "Choice Beef Back Ribs". I've used short ribs in the past and these are much bigger. They were also pretty cheap (3ibs for about $4).

I pulled them out of the freezer tonight and plan on cooking them on Sunday. The label says 'grill ready'? Do I need to cook them on the grill. Although we are in a certifiable heat wave (it was 30 degrees today. LOL) I am not ready to pull out the grill. Can I cook them in a crock pot. If possible, I want to put them in the crock pot before mass on Sunday. I don't really want to cook them with BBQ sauce. Please send recipes/ideas. I am lost on what to do with these things... :confused3

Do you have a roaster. If it is too cold to pull the smoker out, I put ribs in my roaster, and then finish under the broiler.

6 to 8 beef back ribs
1/2 cup prepared teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
1 tablespoon prepared hoisin or char sui sauce
1 tablespoon prepared barbecue sauce or catsup
1/4 cup canned crushed pineapple
3/4 teaspoon hot chili flakes

You can marinade or place in the crock pot.

I make my short ribs in the crock pot with ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil and sliced green onions.

No, you don't need to grill them, that is just an option. I cook my ribs on low in the oven, 250 for several hours. Add whatever seasoning you like, often I just add BBQ sauce at the end. The meat is so tender it falls off the bone cooking them like this. :thumbsup2
