Bedspreads

I heard a rumor that within the new year all of the DVC resorts will faze out the ugly bedspreads. Does anyone know if its true?

Disney has already started the change. They are going to the strip of colored fabric at the foot of the bed. Easier to clean and less cost.

That is great! I think it will make the rooms look more inviting ( for me ) lol. I have a bed spread phobia. Do u know what resorts have been done so far. I know BLT never had them.

Also, an additional enhancement to the room experience is a change in the bedding at most resorts. This involves the use of a bottom sheet, a blanket and a top sheet and is referred to as "Top of Bed." The developer will be paying for the upfront costs and Members will carry the maintenance costs.

Triple sheeting instead of bedspreads or duvets is what I take that to mean. I hated that darned duvet at BLT.

We've always hated the current bedding, hence the king sized duvet and cover we keep in one of our owners lockers. ;-)

The bedspread is the first thing to be removed and stored away once we arrive (followed by washing our hands, lol).

I'm interested to see what the new arrangement is like though, as it would be nice to free up space in that locker...

I like the way BC inn has the beds with the sheets and the throw across the foot of the bed. In the pass I have always wanted to rent points but couldn't understand why I didn't like the pics of the rooms. I have the same issue with the poly & GF. Finally my DH pointed out it was the spread. He was totally right. It dates the room. We are planning in renting points for our next trip I hope they make the change b4 then

It will take a couple of years before all of the resorts have their bedding changed. I wouldn't be surprised that the ones that are due for new bedding will be changed first and those that have had a soft goods replacement in the past two years will be done last. So SSR, BWV and BCV would be towards the bottom of the list.
