Bedspreads/Blankets -- Anyone know???

OK -- From time to time I see on the resorts board that posts pop up about how the bedspreads and blankets aren't changed each time the room turns over, but rather once a month or something (it's like this in all hotels and some news shows have done gross black light investigations, but I won't go there :scared1: ).

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not this is the case on the ships as well. Given the noro-viruses, etc. and the close confines of a ship that enable quicker virus transmission, I would hope the spreads are cleaned each time the ship changes passengers, but something tells me it's just like it is in the hotels. Anyone know for sure?

On our cruise this year I went back up to the room after breakfast to make sure I did not forget anything. Coming down the hallways their were very large bags tied to all the railings. My guess was that these were for the bedspreads and blankets. They probably send them off the ship in between cruises and our replaced by clean ones from the last cruise.

Your question is one that I am always concerned about. You could e-mail DCL guest services and make sure if you would like.

I would love to know for sure. My husband is like afreak when we go to a hotel, he strips off the bed spreads right away.
Thanks

This came up at the height of the Norwalk timeframe a couple of years ago. At that point in time, I know that when DCL cancelled the Magic cruise, they completely replaced all the beds and bedding. **I believe both ships then implemented sending out all bedding for thorough cleaning, instead of the on-ship laundry they had been using. There was some discussion about how they had to replace the bedding more often because the more thorough cleaning was harder on the bedspreads/blankets. **

**Disclaimer that I'm not positive about this, I'm just repeating what I remember "hearing" at that time. That's why I didn't post before.**

You know, "black light Barb" here on the boards did her own investigation quite a while back and reported that the rooms: the floors, couches and the bedding were very clean. So you don't really have to go:scared1:
