We are sailing in August on the Wish in a consierge family oceanview with veranda 3A stateroom on deck 13.

Currently myself and granddaughter and niece. There is a possibility of a friend joining in if some family issues permit.

I'll be in the main bed. My granddaughter says she wants the upper bunk that pulls down. So that leaves the sofa bed or the Murphy bed for my niece. Of course we will use both if them if my friend comes.

It's my understanding that when the Murphy bed is down you can't acess the veranda, is that correct? If so I'm going to suggest the sofa bed for my niece, as I'd like to acess the veranda to unwind before bed or early in the morning.

Is the sofa bed like the ones in Disney hotels, where the mattress is in the back, and folds down? When we stayed in Disneyland Hotel those were pretty comfortable ( no issues with the dreaded bar in your back)

Any experience with the comfort of Murphy bed vs Sofa bed.

I've looked for images online of the stateroom. I've seen videos and photos of the room, but none of the beds turned down.
Does anyone have any pictures from a trip on the Wish?

Yes, the Murphy bed would block access to the veranda. That's why it's named after the infamous law. :rolleyes1

However, that's only an issue when it is down. Most of the time it will be in the stowed position and not be a problem.

Thanks. We'll avoid that then, since I will want to access the balcony when the beds are down in the evening

With the Murphy bed down you can’t “easily” access the veranda. You can still get in and out, you just need to do some mild acrobatics. I wouldn’t do it if someone is sleeping, but otherwise it is ok for me.

As already stated you can can access the verandah it just isn't a clear easy path. You could reconsider the bed assignments and give yourself the Murphy bed. Then you could access the verandah directly from your bed without maneuvering around. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about waking someone else up. If your paying the main fare then that is just part of what they deal with. Tell them ahead of time so it isn't one of those unexpected annoyances for them. "I'm paying for a verandah room so I can enjoy sitting out late at night and early morning. That means when I come in and out you might get awake. Sorry but I don't want to miss this special time of my cruise."

Yeah, if we end up with a 4th, I'll probably just take the Murphy bed. I'm paying yes, since my other 2 cabin mates are 13, and 10 :).

My friend would pay for herself if she can come, but I'm not picky main bed/ Murphy bed, unless it's just really super firm, but I figure for 3 nights I can deal.

Anyone here slept on the couch bed in these cabins?
