We are going to be staying at either Saratoga Springs or, if our wait list comes through, at Beach Club Villas, next month (WOO!) with our almost 3 year old daughter. This will be our first trip to WDW with her out of a crib or pack-n-play, so I'm a little nervous.

She sleeps in a toddler bed at home and has never fallen out of it, but it does have a built in bedrail. She'll be sleeping in the pull out bed in the living room of a 1 bedroom villa.

Are bedrails available at the DVC resorts or should I rent a couple for our stay? Any ideas of making this transition to a big bed an easy one for her? She's usually a good sleeper, so I'm hoping it won't be an issue.

Thanks!

I can't answer about the bedrails.

I just wanted to say that I feel so much better with my kids sleeping in the sofabed vs in a regular bed--the arm of the couch keeps them from falling off. (We've had plenty of non-Disney vacations where at least one kid has fallen off the bed in the middle of the night. It's gotten to the point that we'll put chairs up against that side of the bed as a makeshift railing.)

As far as helping her--if she has trouble getting to sleep, feel free to lie next to her for a while. The first night is usually the hardest...after that the kids are exhausted from being in the parks and go to sleep easily.

Best of luck!
