Just a quick bedding question...Do most of you use sleeping bags for kids bunks or do you buy the rv bedding/sheets? I find the sleeping bags fall off the bunks in the middle of the night, so I am up several times trying to readjust them

Regular twin sheets fit our bunks, so that is what we use. My kids hate sleeping bags, way too hot natured. The sheets are just more easy to deal with and take up less room and easier to wash. Our old camper bunks were the extra long and I had more trouble finding them, finally had some made.

My kids are little (2/5) and they just use character fleece blankets over a fitted sheet for the bunk end. I think the sheets came with the camper.

My Sunnybrook came with fitted sheets too but I put flat single sheets over them to protect them as a bottom sheet and another flat sheet on top.

I took an old full blanket and cut it in half. It is just the right size now and tucks in good at the bottom.

I have a folded in half Indian blanket on top.

I actually took an old throw and cut it in half and I put that on the top of it all in front of the window. If you could see in, you would see the throw. I think my windows are dark enough that you can't but it also protects everything from sun damage.

Those beds are not fun to make!

:tink:

I don't have bunks in the tt I have now, but the last jayco tt we had did have bunks and I found that twin sheets fit the beds perfectly, I wouldn't try a twin comforter though, that became a real mess, just some good thick bedspreads will do better.

I find that twin fitted sheets are too big. The bunk "foam" mattresses are certainly not as thick as a regular mattress. I bought those elastics w/ the clips on the end (found them in the sheet dept at walmart, but you could also use them to hold the underside of an ironing board cover, I've seen them in that aisle too) I clip these under the mattress to hold the sheet in place.

My kids just sleep w/ some fleece throws. Sleeping bags are too cumbersome.

I join everyone saying with use sheets with a fleece blanket. My kids get too hot for sleeping bags. We use twin sheets and yes they are a little big but we tuck.

I'm ready to get camping but you know what? We got snow in our northern counties and it is FREEZING here!

Regardless, we go camping next weekend with our camping club! I better get my camper cleaned!

We have always just used sleeping bags. We have several different kinds depending on the weather. It's just easier than trying to make those bunk beds up.

I still have our camper wrapped for the winter, although it has been warm enough in SE PA to dewinterize some time ago. I just haven't had enough time yet. Maybe this weekend!

I just use the fitted sheet that came on the bunks, but twin sheets fit as I have used them to when the others have gotten dirty and than I have a princess fleece blanket on each bunk, My DD does not like a lot of cover on her. Doing this it is easy to make.

Thanks for the replies. My rv is in storage so I can't check to see if reg twin sheets will fit. There are 4 bunks- 2 are narrow and 2 are wider. It would be great to be able to fit reg twin sheets on them because the rv sheets I can order are pretty pricey and I don't know the quality of them. I think they only come in a set.
I guess if they are too big , I can use the straps to keep in place.
Thanks again. :)
