Hi everybody. We're getting set to take our first trip 'home' towards the end of this month. We've got two little girls who we want to have sleep either on the bed in the bedroom or on the pullout couch in the living room.

My wife has mentioned that she wants to put bed rails wherever they end up sleeping to guard them from falling. Is this something that Disney has readily available, or... is it something we should probably purchase to bring with us?

It'll likely be them sleeping on the pullout couch while our son sleeps on the pullout chair... but we aren't sure yet. We're staying in a 1BR Savannah View at Kidani.

Thanks for any help!

The resort should have bedrails available. But I'm sure they are first come, first served.

If you are going to be checking in early I'd take the chance and hope that the resort has bed rails available. Or you could ask for extra pillows and tuck them around the bed. I believe the MBR bed has five pillows and you could use some of them.

If you are driving bring your bed rails. If you are flying perhaps an air mattress that your 2 year could sleep on. An inexpensive one flattens pretty good for a suitcase. Then the 4 year old could sleep in the chair (has arms to keep her safe) and your older son on the sofa. And then each child has his/her own bed. ;)

The bed rails don't work so well on the sleeper sofa. And I sure wouldn't give up the king sized bed to the little ones. Use pillows.

We used the bed rails on the sleeper sofa at BWV this past year and it was no problem at all. We requested them and they were brought up when we arrived.

We have requested bed rails on every trip for the last 6 years (about 15 trips) and haven't run into any problems yet, and we had some late arrivals too like 10pm. Some resorts do have ones that work better with the sleeper sofa but we have always used them on sleeper sofa without a problem. We sometimes prop a chair or pillows from the couch and/or the coffee table on the side the youngest sleeps on and that always seems to make it more secure.
We've actually had more problems using them on the bed because the mattresses are so thick the bed rail only comes up about 3 or 4 inches higher than the mattress. And the bed is much higher off the ground than the sofa.
