Steve and I sleep with 2 pillows each and usually at a hotel this is not a problem. However, will it be on the ship? It's not like you can borrow from another resort. If everyone asked for more, could they, would they run out? Are the pillows nice and fluffy or are they flat? Should we stop by Walmart and pick up 2/$5 just to be sure? Anyone pillow savvy...or a pillow snob, like us?

I also am a pillow snob! I am flying down to Orland tomarrow (a non-Disney trip :( ) and I will be bringing my own pillow. I just can sleep on most other pillows so I just always bring mine. It has traveled all over the world with me! As far as on my cruise I dont really care about thier pillows cause mine is coming on the cruise! :)

There were at least 3 pillows on the bed. I thought they were definitely fluffy enough and I am also a pillow snob. Also, I believe there were extra pillows in the closet for the pull-down and couch beds. If you need more than that I don't think it will be a problem. Just ask your stateroom host/hostess.

WDWCrazzyCunninghams - I just noticed you are from Charleston! My future inlaws are from Cross Lanes! My TA for my upcoming trips is also is Charleston! Very cool!

We always bring our own unless it is only for 1-2 nights. We use the space saver bags and squish them down flat in order to make sure they come with us! I don't think I could stand to sleep on a pillow that someone else may have drooled on or coughed into or anything. I have always thought that was SO gross (but then that's probably just me) and I have worked in the Hotel business and they don't really "clean" the pillows that often! I'd much rather leave some clothes home and take my pillow!:crazy2:

MY family (brothers and parents) think I am a snob!:snooty: But I'd much rather KNOW who's pillow I am sleeping on!

If I remember correctly there were tons of pillows on the bed and in the closet.

OK Hydster - You can take your pillow but leave the mattress at home. - Mike

When I check in to a hotel, I usually request that the blankets, pillows and bedspread are changed in addition to the sheets. It has to do mostly with allergies, but I also get the heabies thinking about how long that blanket and bedspread have been on that bed and what may be on them. Does anyone know if DCL will do this?

Mike--LOL I wish I could take my mattress with me! I actually take a plastic queen size mattress cover and tip the stateroom host generously to put it on for me for the week! I don't even want to THINK what's on a mattress! At least my face isnt I guess and the rest of me is usually covered in Jammies! LOL Working in the hotel business really soured me on "public" sleeping places! My friend is MORE anal than I am about this stuff so she actually packs a brand new foam mattress cover thing with her (one of the foam memory pads) and then tells the maid, stateroom host or whomever they can just throw it away when she's checked out! I'm not THAT bad but it does gross me out!

Hydster - Keep smiling, your cruise is almost here and with an upgrade like you got, you should be just about ready to sail. - Mike

After this last weekend (Easter weekend) I am way past being ready to sail! I can't wait to get hubby out of his job for 10 days! It is getting really frustrating the hours he worked this last weekend and the on call time he spends away as well!

Here's to both of us having :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
skies on our cruises!

I'm also a pillow snob, not because of cleanliness, but I like my pillows hard (most hotels are too soft). I don't like the idea of having to bring my two pillows on my vacation, but maybe I'll squeeze one in my suitcase and use one of theirs.

When we were on DCL Magic this past Jan. I asked are room steward for 4 extra pillows and an extra blanket and they were in the room in no time at all. Our stewards name was Austin and he took very good care us and the kids. Everytime we asked for or needed something he got it. When the cruise was over we tipped him very well. If you need something just ask them.

Amazing to me to hear what others bring along - especially when everyone I know makes fun of me for just bringing my own pillow CASE. I like the idea of asking for new blankets - that always grosses me out. In fact, last month when we took a trip I told my older son to make sure to not let the blanket touch his face (because I know he's a 'wrapper' - you know, like a hot dog in a bun) & when I got up in the morning & went into his room he was sleeping ON TOP OF the sheets & totally wrapped up in the bedspread - even his head & face! YUCK!!!!

Anyway, back to your question - we had plenty of pillows in our room, but they were yucky. They felt like they were separated - like cotton balls that are pulled apart. I hated them. I normally use two & had to use more just to feel like I had ONE. Don't remember this the other two cruises & haven't seen anyone else complain about this, so maybe it was just a fluke that time. Hopefully, they threw those crummy pillows(?) out.

::yes::

I'm also planning to bring my DH, DD & my Piillows with us. We also use the space saver bags and roll out alot of the air. I just sleep better with my own pillow.:earsgirl: :earsboy: :jester: :sunny:

thank you all for your replies! It looks like we will be able to just ask for extra pillows if there is not enough in the room. I can't imagine packing pillows for all of us! That might take up an entire suitcase! Plus, with the airlines limiting how much weight can be in each case, I would hate to bring those, when I can bring something else back! Since we like the puffier pillows, maybe we'll get the 2/$5 and just leave them there. Then we'll KNOW we have a pillow we like! I hate to have to fold a pillow to get it the way I want it!

Like many others, I need many pillows also. Four extra pillows were immediately delivered to our stateroom on request. It was no big deal. Hey, another from Charleston. I was starting to wonder if I was alone.

WOW!! Small world! We are in Teays Valley! Where are you located!

I was just thinking about the pillow thing too! I need to sleep with a good neck support pillow and I don't want to pack mine. Anyone know of a good travel size neck pillow maybe??

Howdy Neighbor! we lived in Cross Lanes for a year and half when we first transfered to Charleston!
