Bed bugs

They're supposed to, but you can almost guarantee in a time crunch if they look unused they leave them. We always bunch up our bed linens on the last day to make sure they are flipped for the next guest.
Is this something you can call and request, new sheets for the Murphy bed, so you can make the bed yourself upon check in?

I’m pretty sure most DVC members are regular everyday people so some of you need to get your head out of your butt. I asked a simple question. When you have worked helping different medical facilities have to get rid of bed bugs then you might view the question with less sarcasm.
And if WDW was a medical facility, that would be something entirely different, but it's not. You asked a question in such a manner as to assume that reports of bed bugs across 11 resorts and 5,500 rooms are so frequent or pervasive (and publicly known) as to allow for some comparative analysis. It also assumes, on its face, that a bedbug problem already exists. ("Is there one DVC resort that has more of an issue with bed bugs than others?")

Practically speaking, did you assume that the resorts at WDW presented the same level of bedbug threat as these medical facilities you speak of, or does the query begin based on a false equivalency? Did you reasonably anticipate someone coming on here and saying "Well, Old Key West is pretty bad, but absolutely don't go near Saratoga Springs, that place is crawling with them. I'd go with Grand Floridian, as I hear they have had better luck keeping the infestations down.", or something to that effect? Again, you asked which one has more, which assumes that some/all/many have some problem, and demands a comparative response.

Perhaps some people looked at it as if the question were: "I'm a police officer in Las Vegas and I see so many hotel room robberies and vice crimes every day. Which WDW resort is the safest and enjoys the lowest crime rate?" To which most people's response would be "What crime rate are you talking about?"

when I travel I always do a check of the mattress by pulling up the sheets and checking the folds of the mattress. In 600 nights over last couple of years I’ve found bugs twice. Needless to say I left the room and got a new one with extra loyalty points as compensation

when I get home I put my luggage and stuff into a bed bug oven heating everything to 120 degrees kills bugs and eggs in 60 seconds

what is the bed bug oven? I usually wash and they put everything in the dryer but this sounds better

Google bed bug oven. There are lots to buy. I own one of these https://zappbug.com/

it is a box that you put things into that then heats to a temperature that kills bed bugs and their eggs. the only reliable way to kill bed bugs and their eggs is with high temperatures.

60 seconds at 120 degrees will kill bed bugs and their eggs. The nice thing about these ovens is they are large enough to fit your luggage

lets play a scenario where you came into contact with bed bugs and have an egg in a seam of your luggage. You put your clothes and stuff In the dryer. That in now safe but that bag you brought into the house has an egg that will hatch and destroy your world. A suitcase won’t fit in your dryer so you are buggered.

for peace of mind alone the oven is my travel best friend. When I take my family with me it takes a day or two to do all the bags and until then they stay outside but I’d rather the hassle of heating everything than risk an infestation

this is super interesting!!! I usually vacuum the luggage my husband thinks I’m nuts

Look OP, the reason people are making joke-y remarks is this is not really an answerable question. The information is not tracked or reported and any anecdotal experiences are just happenstance and not indicative of any trend at a given hotel.

This would be like me explaining I am a light sleeper and asking is there a DVC resort where I the guests are more quiet at night than others. Well there’s really no DVC hotel that magically attracts loud guests more than another—you could have a family arguing loudly, watching TV or playing loud music, a baby crying, or kids running down the hallway making noise anywhere (let’s just leave bungalows/cabins/treehouses out of it for the sake of argument). And no matter how many ways I rephrase the question or explain how important quiet at night is to me, nobody is going to be able to answer which resorts are more or less likely to have noisy guests than others because that depends on the guests not the hotel. Likewise, no resort is more likely to have guests with bedbugs than another because that too depends on individual guests and not the hotel.

Look MomOTwins, I guarantee you that this type of stuff is tracked by Disney. I was asking to see if anyone had any sort of insight into their information. Keep on thinking your precious DVC is above bedbugs and stop with the sarcasm!! It was a legitimate question but some took it way too personal. Again, this type of information is tracked by businesses.

I never said anything of the sort that DVC is above having bedbugs, just explaining why nobody here has any information to give you. I don’t think I’m the one taking it personally.

😂😂. I’m not an owner, I have no reason to take anything “personally.” We chose to spend our money elsewhere instead of DVC as we want our children to see the world and different countries instead of just Disney. Since this topic is still bothering some, moderators, can this thread please be removed?

Glad you spent your money elsewhere. Have a great time on your trips around the world. If you get a chance, please report back on bed bugs in other countries so we can compare.
