Becoming A AAA Member - Start of Benifits

Hello,

I have a slight car issue and I was wondering about joining AAA-Plus. If I was to join AAA right now online, would I receive the roadside benifits right away?

I wouldn't be the primary, but the assoicate member.

I don't know about online or with other branches of AAA, but:

We have Plus with AAA South. Joined in person in 2003, and as luck would have it, broke down on the way home from joining. AAA would only give us our regular benefits that day, not the Plus (they sent us a tow truck, but we had to pay for the tow).

A AAA South member who added Plus to his regular benefits on the same day that we joined was told that his Plus benefits wouldn't kick in for 72 hours.

i have AAA Alabama, and i'm not eligible for AAA Plus until i've been a member for 1 year, and it costs 15 dollars more per year.

Had the same situation this week. I had let my AAA lapse for a couple of months, just never got around to paying it I guess and totally forgot about it. Had a car issue Friday and when I called AAA about renewing my membership they said it would probably be in effect the next day if I needed a tow. Mine was technially a renewal since they still had me in the system. Thankfully BIL got my car working and I didn't need a tow but I'm not going to let it lapse again.
