Hey, this is to everyone that has completed the CP program already and is still in college. Please apply to become a Campus Rep. You will not regret it. At my school which has 25,000 people, we only have 3 reps so it is much harder for us to recruit a lot of kids for the CP program. Oh so often do I just wish we had 3 more.

It is not a piad job, in that you do not recieve an hourly wage or yearly salary but that doesn't matter because the perks are awesome. You get to maintain your CM status which means you can still go to the parks for free, you still recieve a Blue Pass, you still get resort room discounts, and access to Mickey's Retreat and other Cast activities. You also accumulate points that let you win prizes. Last year I got a 5 pin framed collecter's set of the mirrors from the 50th anniversary castle (yes, not the prettiest things, but to a pin collector definetly worth it!) Other prizes include dining experiences in WDW, resort room stays, and Visa gift cards.

If you would like any more information about this, just message me, or contact your campus rep or recruiter.

Thanks for letting me rant!!!

I am in the process of applying, and hopefully becoming, a campus rep.

I was considering doing this after I do my CP, but I have a few questions. What all does the job require you to do? I'm sure it wouldn't be anything difficult, but I'm just curious. =]

Okay so that wasn't a few questions, only one haha.

i figured since i've already goten PM's with most of the same questions, i would give you all some more information:

two things really determine how much work you would need to put in as a Campus Rep...

1) what your school allows and how much the school supports it

2) how much work you are willing to put it

like i said before, the campus rep system is points based. you recieve points for practically everything (hanging posters, attending a presentation, having offer sessions and send off parties, handing out flyers or rack cards, wearing disney college program clothing to school, reading the monthly newsletters, and about 100 other things on the "reprewards" list. to maintain your status as a campus rep, you need to recieve 2500 points per semester which is not a lot. it can usually be covered by just doing the things i listed above. this is why the amount of work that u do deoends on how much you are willing to do. some people get their 2500, just enough to keep their Disney percs and that is it. others, like myself, try to do as much as we can fit into our schedules. by getting more points, you get better rewards. you also get the joy of sending more people to wdw to participate!!!

the first thing i said about your school supporting it can also affect how much work you have to put in. i know at my school, west virginia university, we can hand out flyers, hang posters, have info tables, etc. with no problem. at my friend greg's school, new york university, he isn't allowed to do any of this. (it's weird, there are no flyers hanging in any of the school buildings?!?) he ahs to work around this and find ways to get the word out so it is a little more difficult for him to get a lot of points although he has been able to maintain 2500 each semester. also, aome schools really support the program itself and sometimes offer a full semester's worth of school credit, where my school only offers credit if it relates to your major, and you know most jobs on CP don't. we find ourselves using the professional internship program to sell the CP program to students. two years ago, we got our Career services center to help a whole lot more than usuall and this past year, they actually gave us a representative in career services that promotes the program without us. getting school support like this really helps to get more points as well.

so to be completely honest, you could probably work about 5 days all semester and maintain your Rep status or you could work more and get better rewards and more kids to go.

likewise, the more reps that one school has, the easier it is to get a lot done.

one warning, when you do apply to be a rep, they check your Disney record card and call for an interview. the interview is quite similar to one that you had for the CP program except you may get questions like "how would you sell the program to a student?"

it is a lot of fun and you would not regret doing it, the other reps and i at my school, get teared up and giddy when we watch the presentation video even for the 50th time. haha.

thanks for all the info! you got me excited about it, i think i may really consider doing it! i better not get ahead of myself though, i haven't even interviewed for the actual CP yet

This sounds like a great opportunity!
One of my campus reps lived next to me in the dorm so I've heard about being a rep from her, as well.
I will definitely be applying after my CP is over, in January!!!

How does Disney pick the campus reps? Is it based on how hard they worked etc.?

Also if you transfer schools, can you keep your rep status at the new school?

I will answer this to the best of my ability because I am only a Rep not a Recruiter. I know that they interview you (mine was done on the phone) with some questions about your work experience uring CP. They also ask how you would "sell" the program to other kids. I am not sure if they check with your CP manager but they might. I know they look at your record card which has attendance infractions etc. on it. This doesn't mean it needs to be spotless. I had half a point on mine (lateness one day) and I still got the position.

I am realy not sure about the keeping Rep status at a different school. I am sure it's quite likely but I guess if the new school already had a lot they may not need you. I would ask your area recruiter (you can get their info from your Reps) or you can ask while you are down there.

I just got a position as a campus rep yesterday. I didn't even realize we got the perks of a cast member, I just thought it would be a lot of fun and would look good if I go on to apply for a professional internship. Now I'm even more excited about doing it!

Hey,
So i have an interview to be a campus rep in 2 days and just had a couple questions. Do they look at your chart before they interview you or is this done prior to that. And what other questions are asked so that I can be ready. I know they ask how would you sell the program, but are there any others..and does anyone have any good tips?

Korey

Questions will vary. Mine was quite conversational. I had forgotten that I had a telephone interview scheduled and I was eating at GF when my recruiter called. It took me awhile to exit the restaurant and go to a place that was quiet with no lawnmowers haha. She asked me about my role on the program. She may or may not ask about what you do at school (classes, job, other clubs, etc.) and ask about time management to make sure that you would be able to commit time to this and that you weren't just doing it for the perks. The only tip I really have is to be positive. Smile even if you are on the phone and don't get too nervous! I am not sure when they look at your record card but I'm guessing before because if they did it after they may waste time making phone calls to people they really did not want.
