Beaver Creek Tavern

(Sorry, couldn't find a way to link this to restaurant review thread)

We had a table booked for 7.45 on Monday 18th February. There always seems to be a queue outside the 2 Sequoia Lodge restaurants but it moves quickly. We had a table quite near the buffet so it seemed busy with lots of coming and going, but nothing that disturbed us.
The choices for starters included cold meats, meat loaf, pork pie, gherkins, pickled onions, tomato soup, croutons, cheese, rolls, French bread, smoked mackerel, prawns, seafood dressing, salad dressing, whelks, sardines, tomatoes, sweetcorn, rice, couscous, potato salad, coleslaw, beetroot and eggs.

The main courses included roast potatoes, potatoes dauphinois, chips, smiley faces, spaghetti, Bolognese sauce, lasagne (meat and vegetarian), bacon, sausage, roast chicken, gravy, spicy beans, green beans, pizza and cannelloni.

Desserts included cheese and biscuits, yoghurts, fresh fruit, jelly, cakes, tarts and cheesecakes.

We all enjoyed our food, although once again I had so much for starters that I hardly have any main course (a common thing when I am at a buffet). It was certainly bustling and busy but we weren’t hurried at all and I would eat here again.

The price for 2 adults and 1 child, including 1 beer, 2 waters and 1 coffee was 77.80 Euros, before discount.

I have to say I'm quite hungry looking at all that nice food. Selection also seems quite large. I'll be staying at Sequoia Lodge this Friday, so may have to book reservations upon check in. Just out of interest are both the hotels Resturants buffet?

Reading your report it sounds like the main course was buffet style too ?

When we ate here last March, the starters and desserts were buffet but the main course was chosen from the menu. I thought it was really good value for money and was disappointed I could only manage 2 desserts. (one of which is on your pic too, the strawberry mousse tart) ;)

Both Beaver Creek and Hunter's Grill seem to be buffet now - the same price as well. There doesn't seem to be anything to choose between the 2. :confused3
It is my husband eating the strawberry mousse tart - honest! He loved it. He is one of those annoying people who can eat and eat and then eat some more and stay as slim as a pencil.:rolleyes2

That is a massive selection of foods, I wouldn't wat much of the starters but there is lots of choice from the mains. I might have to try here one time.

Just giving this a bump to ask if it can be added to the restaurant sticky at the top of the page.

I feel very hungry after reading this! :lmao:
