Beauty and the Beast on Broadway...Help!

Has anyone here seen this? If so please give me some info on the Lunt-Fontaine theatre. Are front row (and center) seats too close? Will we crane our necks? How about front row rear mezz, is this too far away? or second row front mezz?

Yikes! Having never seen a big time theatre event I'm in over my head!

Have seen Beauty and the Beast a few times on Broadway and I always felt the first few rows are too close. I would try either get about 5th row center orchestra, or first or second row front mezzanine if possible. We just went a few weeks ago and were in about 8th row center orchestra and the seats were great.

Thanks for the info. We can get 1st row (F&C), 2nd row front mezz, 5th row orch, but it's way left of center and front row rear mezz, which I figured was too far (though 30.00 per seat less).

DD and I had GREAT seats.......4th row front mezzanine. We went on the 17th of Feb. and our seats were $55 each. I think it was through ticketmaster, using code Save9, and knocked off $50 or so off each ticket. Offer is only good until (I think) March 15 or 31.

But, the seats were fantastic.

I agree. We saw it 3 years ago when DD was 8 and she loved it. Our seats were in the orchestra and she had a hard time seeing. She ended up on my lap which, shall we say, inhibited my enjoyment a bit. We saw the Lion King the following year and were in the front row of the Mezz and it was perfect. Being able to look down on the stage made it easier for her to see. Beauty is an awesome show. We took my Mom, who is a huge theater snob and was appalled to be going to a Disney show on Broadway, and she was enchanted!

We had our seats in row 2 of the front mezzanine, and they were fantastic!!

Go for it- you won't regret it....

I believe when we went we were in the 11th row, orchestra??? (We were 11 rows center from the stage), they were perfect seats, wouldn't have wanted to be any closer than we were.

I saw it first row balcony and it was fantastic.
I got my tickets from the TKTS booth for 1/2 price. I go to NY quite a bit and see B&B on the TKTS booth every time, it is not as popular as it was when it first opened. But I have never seen Lion King on the TKTS list.
But if you are going with children and don't want to take a chance I would say row 5 or farther or first two row balcony. But Broadway theatres are not like movie theatres. the seats are all set up stadium like, where even if you are short you won't have a problem with a tall person in front of you. It just depends on where the seat is, if it is far to the left or right it will be harder to see the entire stage. Peggie

When Lion King was here in L.A. on its original stint a few years back I was on a very tight budget but I wanted for DS and I to see it so badly so we got seats for a Saturday evening performance, 2nd to the last row up in the balcony but in the center for $15.00 each. I didn't expect much but we could see everything and didn't miss the birds flying and felt like we couldn't have had better if we had spent $60.00.

As a very short person, I would beg to differ. I almost never take orchestra seats because too often the theater is too "flat" and I can't see. As I mentioned, DD really had that problem at Beauty when she was 8, and I could not have taken her seat and seen much past the tall guy in front of her..
