OK beat this!!!!
Just back from 10 days at WDW and only spent $23.00!!!! Share your spending habits!:) And if you could only spend $25.00, what would you buy???

(This, of course, does not include the $1000.00 in annual passes, $900.00 in DDP, and $600.00 for airfare. We did not pay for lodging though- hooray for DVC! OK, so yeah, we pay for the points over the year, but we didn't have to come up with the lodging funds specifically for this trip...)

BUT, we took down our usual spending money for all the extras and souviners and that's all I spent on that stuff! One DVC car sticker and 3 antenna toppers! Well worth my $23.00 too!:rotfl2:

So here's the real scoop...4 days before we left for WDW, we decided we might like to go look at new houses just in case we want to move in the next year or so. Well, spontaneous people that we are, we signed the contract and the rest is history. So every time I walked into a store, DH was following behind saying "save it for your new nice big house." Needless to say, we had it out a few times over this contant badgering, but I did it!!!!! A huge accomplishment for me considering that I can usually blow upwards of $500-$1000.00 in a trip on crap or extra stuff (miniature golf, snacks, etc.).

Oh and to be fair, I guess I should mention that both DDS came down with their own $25.00 in disney dollars and spent that...but it wasn't my money!!!!

That was one expensive $23 trip! Is it $900 just for food?

I can honestly say without a doubt that I will never, ever be able to beat that. :teeth:

Wow! Years ago, we went on a Disney Cruise and spent way less than $100 which impressed everyone on the cruise boards. It was hard to resist those tropical drinks, though!

We don't spend much either. All we bought this year was a princess hat for DD5 and that was it! (maybe $18, I think)

We travel alot and rarely buy souvenirs anywhere. We take pictures and have memories but we find that alot of what we used to buy when travelling just sort of ended up in the bottom of a toy box, so now we don't bother.

Every Disney trip we buy DD5 a treat, this year the hat, one year a fancy balloon and a princess spinny light up thingy and one year a pal Mickey. We still bring the pal Mickey and the spinny thing on our Disney trips.

We find the dining plan is more than enough food for us so we never buy food OP. We are far from "cheapskates" (we travel frequently to destinations other than Disney, often staying in upscale accomodations) but we are frugal and find more value in our dollars spent on experiences rather then trinkets.

I bought a tea ball for $8 on my last trip. And that was splurging for me because I'm not a souvenier kind of person. Oh and a giant pixie stix over at Universal. I think that was $3.

I am so impressed. You are awesome. I could never do that. I don't do a lot but not 23. WOW!! I agree, you are my hero. Way to go!! I won't tell my DH!:lmao: :thumbsup2

You are giving me hope...I was starting to panic about having enough spending money....now I am feeling better!!

That's awesome!! Maybe I can have some self control like that when I am there in May!!

We don't buy trinkets but we do buy things that we use.

Last year dd9 got a really cute sweatshirt in AK that is one of her favorites. DS bought a sling backpack in AK that he uses all of the time. DD3 stills plays with her Mickey playset. I buy a photo album with the year on it for all of our many, many pictures. That goes on our bookshelf with the other vacation albums and we pull them out to look at them a lot. DH and I usually get something to use in the kitchen or maybe a piece of art for the walls but we didn't see anything that really grabbed us last time.

We use these things everyday and they bring back wonderful memories when we do. :goodvibes

Yay for you! Your logic is very much like mine - we are also DVC members, and are going to be on the Dining Plan in June. My DH doesn't believe me when I told him I didn't think we'd have many other expenses on our next trip, 'cause we also have $75 in Disney Dollars that I purchased a few years ago and forgot about, and we have $200 in Disney Rewards Dollars! :)

Now, if I could just convince him that the money we save should be used towards purchasing more points . . .
