Here's a very cool link to a page that discusses the evolution of the film, Bears (originally titled "Brother Bear"). It also has some images from pre-production of the film.

The site says Bears is scheduled for release on Nov. 7, 2003.

The whole "Bob & Doug" reunion sounds like a winner in the comic relief category.

As an Alaskan I would love a movie that at least suggests my home state. Lilo was Hawaii, so Bears could be Alaska! Kenai and Sitka are both names of Alaskan towns.

I thought Snow Dogs was okay as far as how we were portrayed, and actually one of the better movies set in Alaska (the scene when his adoptive mom shows up in the taxi and apologizes for only having "american money" brought the house down at the theatre.

I would love though an animated movie that could portray the wilderness, animals and aurora borealis here. That would be incredible. Here's hoping they work it all out and at least suggest they are in Alaska.
