Bears at the Bears... who went to the 1pm show?

I'm bitter at Kari for not sneaking me into the 1pm bears show to watch her speil... she didn't want to because all the managers were hanging around the bears.

I know Jon did all the other shows, and she did the 1pm and 1:20 show. So did any one video tape it?? I want to see it.

Gay Day tradition. Bears and their friends meet up and watch the Country Bear Jamboree at 1pm (it now runs from 12:30 to 1:30 or later as they get probably three or four shows packed full)

It's always one of the highlights of our Gay Day at the MK. SO funny to be in an audience of big burly men singing along with "All the guys who turn me on, turn me down."

I was at the 12:00 show. Some bears in line were saying that one website was advertising it as 12:00 although we always thought it was 1:00. Doesn't seem like it mattered as the place was packed with bears. Grrrr baby, yeah!!

We don't even bother looking at the websites anymore. We just know that the bears meet at CBJ at 1pm and the crowd starts forming anywhere from noon to 12:30

there was a sea of red shirts at about 12:30, that's when they opened the extended queue. Big Gay Jon was the guy who was spieling. He told me he did 7 shows this year.

And it's always been at 1pm... or about that. Each show is 18minutes long... so at seven shows, it's well over an hour to get through every one. You have to be standing outside at the right moment to one of the 350 for the 1pm show.

And besides christmas day, it's the only day that the bears have consistant full shows. And the only day out of the year that they have to put up the extended ropes.

And Phil Holmes was apparently in the theater for all the shows. There were a couple of other big wigs hanging around outside.

I video taped it with my digital camera but kicked myself for not getting the CM's opening spiel which got the best reaction when he said something to the effect of the "bears coming out" - The crowd loved that. I also wonder what the few straight families with kids thought about the show.

Yeah, CM's try to "warn" others that the line is a bit long and to come back later.

Last year kari had a family from another country who couldn't speak english. So she sat them all the way up front. And they seemed terrified and confused.
