I started working on our welcome bag/box items last night. We have all sorts of fun items already, but here is my question.
We are doing a "bear necessities" bag that so far has these things in it:
band aids
sunscreen
emery board
mini sewing kit
gum

I did a label for the bag that says "Bear Necessities" and I used Pooh Bear (because I LOVE him, even if I look too much like him, shape-wise! :rotfl: and I'm not a huge Jungle Book fan ). DS14 IMMEDIATELY said, "You can't use Pooh for "Bear Necessities" -- that's Baloo's thing!!!" First of alll, I can't believe he felt so strongly about it! Though I LOVE that he is so "into" it. :cloud9: Do you think anyone would think it was silly to put Pooh on the bear necessities bag?

Second question -- what else do you think should go in that little bag? I thought maybe a lip balm. There will be chocolate separately in the welcome bag, so even though I find that essential, the limits of the little bag aren't conducive to the sheer volume of chocolate we intend to provide.

What do you think?

I agree with your son, but I have seen other people use Pooh on these boards too.

How about adding some antibiotic ointment? You could probably find a large pack of the single use ones somewhere for a good price.

What if you did a variety of labels? Say half with Pooh and half with Baloo - then you both can be happy...

As for items in the bags, hmmm...what about some mints and maybe those little sample sizes of Tylenol and Tums... Oh and the lip balm would be perfect.

I love pooh too and I would definitely use him over baloo as well. Many people on here used pooh :goodvibes

How about hand sanitizer, hand lotion, shout wipes, tums....

I would reccomend a chap stick that has sunscreen. I have lived in FL my whole life and you would be surprised at how sunburned lips can get and everyone forgets to use a balm. Also some bug repellent for the mosquitoes at night. They are bad in the summer but not right now. Not sure when you will be here.

And FL has bad allergens. Perhaps supplying some allergy meds too?

I used Pooh on my bags too. I couldn't find a pic of Baloo I liked to put on them, and found a perfect one of Pooh in a sailor's hat... :pooh:

Anywho, I put in a loofah scrubbie thingie (or a poof...$1 for 6 at the Dollar Tree), 1 girls and 1 guys razor, bandaids, and some of the other stuff you already listed.

Wet wipes for sure! They are great for after you finish your Mickey bars :) . I think the Pooh idea is cute!

My boys absolutely LOVE Jungle Book! It was DS18's first movie at the age of two and he wore it out and then some :lovestruc I can understand your son's feelings but I also think Pooh is fine :goodvibes

My sister did a destination wedding with welcome bags. I second the motion of tums and tylenol. We also put in a bottle or 2 (can't remember) of water, granola bar, and some small bags of chips. It's nice when your guests arrive from traveling that they have something to munch on when they check in.
And I have to agree... Baloo should be with Bear Necessities. Could you use a yellow bag and call it Pooh's huney pot? I know not as cute but atleast you're both happy.
Have a great time!!!

Hmmm! I'm sorry to say Cam, but I am TOTALLY with DS on this one!! The Jungle Book is one of my most very very favourites though so i'm probably biased!! :goodvibes OK... Exactly HOW big of Disney fans are all your guests? I mean, are they really going to notice? Or are they going to point and laugh and you'll be the talk of your Disney friends group for months and months? :lmao:

Seriously, just do what makes you happy hunny! Whatever you decide will be fantastic!!

No Baloo and Pooh instead!?? WHOEVER heard of SUCH a thing?!?! ;)

Okay, this just had me :lmao: !! I'd say only 3 families out of 20 are NOT "big Disney fans" so the thought of all the others pointing and laughing was just too much to "bear"! So, I caved! Thank you so much for all of the advice -- my labels now have a very cute pic of Baloo and Mowgli together. I also found motrin packets and purell hand sanitizer and chapstick with sunscreen for the bear necessities bags. :yay: Ultimately, the welcome bags will also have lots of other stuff in them including bottled water, granola bars, snack mix or goldfish, etc., etc.

Thank you for your help! :grouphug:

Just got back and shout wipes and the band-aids were gone from almost everyones "bear necessities" bags for us!

We're doing the same thing, individual motrin packs. eentsy hand sanitizer, disney bandaids, chapstik ( trying to decide to get personalized or not) and eentsy sunscreen (if we can find it) That is just the necessities pack. Her welcome bags are another story, with the personalized individual wine bottles. Then again, I find wine to be a necessity at times...

Have fun! I've enjoyed sharing your story on your PJ! :surfweb:

See, I thought the shout wipes were a great idea, too, but DH didn't think people would use them. I have a feeling they are going to end up in there, anyway! :rotfl: :rotfl:

:rotfl: :upsidedow Thanks for reading! Oh, and if I could afford & manage to put a bottle of Banfi Rosa Regale in every welcome bag, I definitely would!! Many of our guests are doing the half marathon or marathon, though, so I don't think they'd drink it until Sunday night or they'd have to figure out how to get it home if they are not checking their luggage. So, alas, no wine. Though, now that I think of it, I'll definitely pack some for ME! ;)
