Hi! Can anyone tell me what a Bear face room at the Wilderness Lodge is? I hear about them but would like to know the Difference between that type room and a courtyard view room.Is it worth trying to get one or would it be better to just take courtyard> Thanks :)

As you face the resort from the courtyard, the windows of the rooms off the lobby (in between the two wings of the resort) look like a bear's face. There are not that many of these rooms available but it doesn't hurt to ask. I requested:

1). Inner courtyard view off the lobby (which is a bear face room) OR

2). an inner courtyard view high floor (but not the top floor because the balconies are enclosed, impeding view).

There's a good chance the CM you talk to will not understand the term "bear face room". See the official WL thread on this forum to get more detail about it.

The top floors of WL are CL, so unless they upgrade you, you shouldn't have to worry about obstructed view balcony (we were upgraded last trip and didn't mind balcony - it was kind of cozy, but I digress). So I would ask for a higher floor.

Re Inner courtyard over lobby (bear face) - I think opening onto the balcony open to the lobby is a disadvantage, but view down the center over falls/pool area would be great.

So, I think you'll enjoy your courtyard view at WL whether "Bear face" or not - it is a great place!

Oh Thanks !So all a bear face room is a room with a bear face on the outside. I was getting the impression that they were larger or had the best views.I guess whatever inner courtyard room i get would be great.Oh,how about north or south wing? Is one better than another?

Stayed in a courtyard view in north wing and would give a slight edge because of the "back" elevator to Roaring Forks and laundry room. We also have stayed on south side (woods view Club Level) and it was fine too (you can still access the back elevator, you just have to walk to to the other side.) Don't stress over it too much - you will enjoy it whichever side you are on!:)

Thanks everyone for the info on Bear Face rooms. By reading im not quite sure i want to be on top of lobby anyway. But anything sounds great on inner courtyard, just hoping to be able to also view some of bay lake. :)
