Beaches

Hi,

We are planning a trip at the end of May and would like to take a day to go to the beach. Does anyone have a recommendation, also what the best way to get there is. We are staying at the HOJO, and are really looking forward to our visit.

A lot of people like Huntington Beach. I like Newport Beach. Many others like Laguna Beach.

You really can't go wrong with any of them.

We always go to Newport, it's our favorite. We have also driven from beach to beach (Huntington, Seal, Newport etc ...) for the day. It was fun, but for just spending the day at the beach. We do Newport. It's close and easy to get to from DL. Although depending on when you go in May, it maybe better to go during the week rather than the weekend, it gets pretty crowded for Memorial Day weekend! As do any of the beaches.

If you do Newport, you could eat across the street from the pier at The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner, then stroll across to the pier at sunset. Very nice.

Or if you did Huntington, you could eat at Ruby's Diner ON the pier, right out at the end.

Both are great choices. A taxi would probably be fairly expensive.
