Beaches n Cream and Illuminations

Can't believe I'm planning strategies this far out

We will arrive at WDW on a Thurs. at 6 pm. We don't want to use up one of our passes for such a small amount of time in the parks (plus, who knows how long check in will take us.)

We have a car, and I was thinking that after we check in at POP, it would be wonderful to go over to Beaches n Cream for one of their ice cream desserts. Never been before, wanted to go but missed out on last trip. I was wondering if you can see Illuminations from this area, or an area close by? If so, any place you can suggest within walking distance of BnC?

You will not be able to see them from Beaches and Cream but you will be able to see the high fireworks if you walk around the Boardwalk. I saw them a few times from various places around the Boardwalk or on the pathway towards the international gateway from the Beach Club.
