I don't think it is overly chaotic. It's small, but they only let a set number of people in.

I'm not overly keen on really busy restaurants-especially if they're small
Is it rather hectic after illuminations?

Probably all of the tables and counter seating would be full, and there will likely be people waiting. There's no waiting area inside, so they would all be outside. The restaurant in and of itself could be described as hectic, since it is so small making it a tight squeeze between some tables, servers running around, and whenever they bring out a Kitchen Sink sundae, they make an announcement and lights flash. So it's not a calm or peaceful atmosphere by any means. That said, we've eaten there for lunch around 1pm and there were about 2 tables with some counter seating available, thus making it less busy.

I can't believe how popular Beaches & Cream has become. The first time we went to Disneyworld in October 2011, we found this place by accident while just looking around at the Beach Club resort. We were there around lunch time and the place was completely empty. When we were seated, we were literally the only people in the restaurant. Now it has become very hard to get a reservation here. When we went in 2016, I had to make so many adjustments to fit in B&C. Even for our upcoming trip, 180 days out, I was able to get 1 reservation during the 8 days that we are there.

No Way Jose is the best. Try the Peanut Butter Banana bread pudding, it was also very good.

We had a similar experience at scifi several years ago..
Just strolled in & the following year a very snooty cm stated you can't eat here unless you've booked 180 days ago!!
