Beaches and Cream Update

Just got back from BCV yesterday. Ate at B&C on the 3rd. Closed for rehab from the 6th to the 13th. Waitress said that they are not going to expand into the arcade because they cannot break through the wall for structural reasons. Also will no longer be having carryout food, only ice cream carryout when refurb is done. Are going to replace the floor as they have had a few injuries with current tile floor and redo the back wall, but she didn't elaborate. Some of the other restaurants will be having B&C items on their menu, such as the YC galley and Hurricane Hanna's.

I tell ya, I don't know what makes the burgers there so good, but man are they delicious.

Thanks for the update.

I think the buns are buttered at B&C which contributes to that taste. For those from the Midwest, it is like Culver's butterburgers IMO.

This is a good idea I believe. There just was never enough space to turn Beaches and Cream into a full CS eatery. Better to leave it as a glorified ice cream shop.

Yep. Reopen on the 14th they said. The CMs I talked to said they expected expansion soon, but I don't think they had any inside info and I believe the OP on that.

Reportedly the GM of Y&BC said at the BCV annual meeting that he had looked into expanding B&C into the arcade but that it was too costly. I wasn't at the meeting but Beca reported about it on the DVC forum. He said that it cost 1.5 million to redo the Beach Club Marketplace and that was a drop in the buckey compared to expanding B&C.

Beca also said that Hurricane Hannah even had a new grill installed so the burgers would be like those at B&C.

Glad to hear this...we're leaving Saturday and are planning to hit B&C for the first time and I was disappointed when I read another thread earlier that said it was closed.
