We're first timers so here's a first timer question -- On the excursions, do you have to bring your own beach towels? If so, can you use them from the ship or should we pack some?

most excursions provise them. If not they usually state that in the advertisement for that excursion. There is a shore excursion desk on deck three and they will be able to tell you for sure. They are really helpful.
There are lots of towels on board, just in case you need them, so no need to bring your own. Every excursion I now about has provided the towels.

FYI...the towels DCL provides for shore excursions, for Castaway Cay and for the pool and are small towels..about half the size of a regular sized beach towel. You can take more than one, but I like to lay on a full size towel so I usually buy one of the ones they sell onboard and use that as one of my souveniers....they have many styles to choose from and they start at about $20 or so.

Here is a link to some of the styles they have had onboard...

Each year they come out with a dated towel which is the one I usually purchase.
