I was wondering if it is really that necessary to bring beach towels to WDW for the waterparks and pool areas?? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated:goodvibes

I always bring my own towels............ and I always say I'm not going to the nexttime:lmao:. I like covering my behind with something bigger than a "pool towel". So I bought a cute cover-up.
But they take up alot of space in the luggage and they take a long time to dry out.

** I always do a few loads of laundry and they take forever to dry in the dryers too:sad2: another reason to leave them at home.

We always drive so we used to always bring our own towels. This past March we did not, and it was fine. I liked having one less thing to pack and I thought the pool towels were sufficient. Albeit smaller, there was always a large pile and we would take several if we had to.

If you are going to a water park via Disney bus, I would suggest bringing a towel to dry off and maybe a sweatshirt or light jacket. The air conditioning on the bus can seem cold when wearing a swim suit.

We bring older, thinner Disney towels from the Disney store. I like having my own towels. If you are just worried about drying off ,you could bring those small microfiber ones. Throw a few in a backpack.

We bring beach towels, specifically for using at the water parks. It is nice to lay them out on the chaises, and it helps keep people away if you step away to grab food or use the restroom.

A few years back, I bought a few towels marked down at Target. I think they were $2 or less. Took them to Disney to use at the water parks.

We still have those towels and they are the "go to" towels for my DS 15.

Many places are starting to mark down summer items. If you don't want the towels taking up luggage space, buy a cheapie and leave it there. Besides, on another post, a DISer noticed a mom using a pool towel to clean a baby's bottom - ewww!

I was thinking maybe we should start a towel swap, like the fridege swaps. Until I read about the baby wipe! Then again, DISers wouldn't do that...would they?

I use a semi-perm. hair colour, and it "bleeds" when wet. For this reason, I bring my own towels (and NEVER white ones!:rotfl:) I get bright colourful ones that I use for the shower and for the pool.
One trip I absolutely RUINED several (perfectly white) hotel towels - now, I ALWAYS bring at least two, one for pooltime & one for the shower.

I never bother - they take up too much room in my luggage, and since I fly instead of drive, suitcase space is precious!

I rent towels at the water parks, and use the "pool towels" at the resort pools.

We brought them the last two times but won't next time. They just take up way too much space (now that there are 6 of us using them :) )

I always take a few towels with me. I buy the 5 dollar ones from target and take them with me. Right now target has beach towels in the dollar section for 2.50. they work pretty well also.

We always rent a car when we go to Disney, so we hit a cheap/I-Drive souvenir shop and buy beach towels. I always say I won't get attached to them so we will leave them there when we're done, but I always find room for them to come home. I definitely like having our own beach towels!

I used to but since we fly and I try and do it with just hand luggage, we rented them from the waterpark last time and it worked out just fine. It's alot cheaper than paying to check a bag!

I always bring 2 beach towels to the parks with us. It's nice to have something to sit on while waiting for the parades/fireworks... it's nice to get up afterwards and not leave a puddle of sweat behind on the sidewalk :scared1: I roll them up tightly and they don't take up too much room at all. But then again, we still have a stroller so tossing 2 rolled up towels into the basket isn't a big deal... once we're done with strollers I'll revisit my towel-seat!
