Heading to the shore for the day tomorrow and taking lunch with us to avoid the obnoxious boardwalk prices, nay an order of fries and some ice cream.

Normally I pack Goldfish crackers and Twizzlers, a sandwich, etc., but I can't decided on what to take this time.

What kinds of snacks/lunches do you pack for a day at the beach?

Grapes
Cheese and Crackers
Box of the party mix that has pretzels, cheese crackers, that type of thing
Carrots and ranch dip
Rice Krispie treats - made from home, not the store ones

For some reason I like snack type things at the beach. I have a hard time eating a sandwich in the hot sun.

Fruit/granola bars
fruit snacks
mini bags of chips - everybody in our family prefers a different chip.
mini pack of cookies or the recloseable cups of the mini cookies - again everybody has a prefered different cookie.
salted peanuts and/or sunflower seeds
grapes

I love to take chilled fruit. Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes (frozen:love:), cherries. We often take a snack mix like Chex. Sometimes we will take a bag of licorice or mixed nuts along. We take plenty of cold drinks.

repeating same, but I love freezing the grapes first, so they are cold and crisp on the beach, really refreshing.
Plus fruit salad, watermelon, other fruits you like cut up kept cold is really refreshing and hydrating.
We serve them in plastic cups with plastic forks or spoons.

Enjoy the shore!:)

Any kind of fruit, usually pineapple or some kind of melon. I don't really like to "eat" on the beach, so that's enough for me.

We just got back from a week at the beach. We made sandwiches everyday and packed chips and fruit. DD loooooved the fruit!

One tip: take some baby powder. Use a little to get the sand off your hands. It's miraculous!

We always pack fruit, because it helps keep you hydrated, and usually some easy protein - like cheese and crackers or nuts. Oh, and there must be chocolate chip cookies!

Really?

I've got the grapes chilling in the freezer, as well as a few bottles of water that will serve not only as beverages, but also ice packs. I have some strawberries too and Goldfish pretzels. I'm still debating the idea of sandwiches.

tons of fresh fruit. it always tastes so good at the beach!!!!

We take the frozen grapes and other kinds of fruits. My kids love frozen gogurts or icey pops as well. :thumbsup2

For me, a day at the beach is never complete without a tuna sandwich, plain Lays chips, some kind of homemade treat (brownies, cookies, etc) and grapes for snacking. Oh, and lots of bottled water (+ one can of grape soda with lunch). :beach:

This is what my mother always packed when she'd take us kids, and then she'd pack it for me when I went with friends as a teen and it has just kind of rubbed off.

This is the ONLY time I ever drink grape soda... :confused3

Baby powder works great to get the sand off feet as well before getting back into the car:thumbsup2

I go to the beach every day and basically always take the same things: a peanut butter (reduced fat) and jelly (sugar free) sandwich on light wheat bread, a protein bar, a piece of fruit, and at least three bottles of water. If I think about it, I freeze one bottle and use it like a big ice cube to keep things in the cooler extra cold. That bottle has always melted enough to drink before I head home.
