Beach or explore?

Hi,
We are heading off on our first cruise on the 8th April on the Fantasy for the Eastern 7 nighter.
On our 2 shore days (Tortola and St Thomas) we want to do one full beach day and the other full on sightseeing.
Is one better suited to either of these than the other?
Also worth noting that there are no ships due in Tortola on the same day but we'll be one of 4 when we dock in St Thomas if that makes a difference!
I also think we'll be sticking with the Disney excursions due to the simplicity and not wanting to plan stuff out too much.

When I was in Tortola we did a snorkeling excursion. You can read my trip report for details. It was a lot of fun. We didn't really look around the island, but from what I could see there weren't many beaches there, you'd need to book an excursion that would take you to one at a different location. Can't say much about St. Thomas last time I was there was a little kid.

We loved the excursion to Devils Bay in Tortola. We didn't get to dock in StThomas bscause of a hurricane

We were on the eastern in May and we didn't plan any Disney excursions. We got off the boat in Tortolla and did a jeep tour around the island (took about 2 hours), that ended at the beach, where you could get off and stay at the beach, or take the transportation back to the port area. Since we were the only ship in port, there was plenty of room on the beach. In St.Thomas, a lot of people went to the beach there, as there was a lot of people were in port. In talking to other guests, they left as soon as we docked, knowing the amount of ships in port, the earlier you got there, the better. I would probably recommend doing the beach in St.Thomas, as from other guests we talked to, as that one had more to do.
