Beach ideas for 4th of July week?

We are looking to go somewhere warm for July 4th week. Anyone have any recommendations for somewhere that will not be so crowded?

Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands are never crowded as they are largely National Park. The beaches are dynamic, gorgeous. I've been both places during the 4th week. It could be difficult to find a place to stay. What type of accomodation do you seek? House, motel, condo, campground? All are offered. Lots more to choose from!! YOU WILL LOVE IT THERE!!!
caveat: not much shopping, no fast food, it's an old fashioned family beach vacation

I don't know what part of the country you are looking at, but I can't imagine any place not crowded that weekend.
