Beach idea on the way to WDW

Does anyone have any ideas for a beach stop on our way to WDW. We will be coming from St. Louis MO, just need to figure out where a good stop woudld be if we want to stay at the beach on the way down.

We love Panama City Beach for a great beach spot. Beautiful white sandy beach and clear water. I did a google search and I think it added on about 3 hours to your trip. Not bad for a beach stay! It's about 12.5 hours to PCB then 6 hours to Orlando.

thanks, I will have to take a look. We were going to spend a week in that area this summer, but did not work out.

Hernando Beach, Fl is another nice area and only a couple of hours off your driving path.

anybody else have ideas, Panama city looks like it may be too far off, would love to go though, looking into Hernando Beach
