Beach house, beach hotel help

We are going to wrap up our vacation with a couple night stay at a hotel on the beach. We'd like to be near Tampa, since we ate flying home from there. Does anyone have any suggestions ? Last year we went to Holmes beach and loved the beach, but couldn't stay in the hot outdated room. There will be 5 of us total, 3 Adults and 2 kids. I'd like to be on the beach and quieter the better. We don't need 5 star accommodations, but we do need AC. Thanks for your help, this is a very last minute trip and I need to get on it !

We always end our Disney vacation with a few days on a beach...a fantastic, relaxing closure to the chaotic, nonstop theme park stay. We have come to love St. Pete Beach. DVC has spoiled us to the timeshare vacation pattern so we now consistently rent a condo right on the beach from an owner we've come to trust. Vista's on the Gulf, St. Pete Beach. We visited Treasure Island this past fall and fell in love! We stayed right on the beach at the Sunset Vistas. We had a two bedroom two bath suite with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, living room, dining area. It was amazing and just down the steps to the beach. The entire area was lovely, the staff was very friendly, and it was a family friendly atmosphere.
