Beach Club??

I am one of the POFQ people now looking for another resort. My husband is now looking at the Beach Club for our June stay and we have a question about the pool area. I read in a post somewhere that there was some rehab going on with the pool or the slide or something. This would be a really big deal for us since we have two small children. Does anyone know anything about it? Is the pool area being rehabed? If so when would it be done? Anyone who has been recently can confirm or deny would really help if we need to keep looking

Only the slide, which should be done by then, and wouldn't affect you anyhow with small kids.

The rehab was scheduled to be completed my April 4th, so you should be set by June. There are two slides - a small one for the little tykes, and the BIG one for the more adventurous swimmers.

The pool is incredible! Here are some PICTURES.

The area in the top right is very shallow and perfect for younger children. The middle area is a lazy river with a current - great for floating on one of the tubes that you can get right there. The area on the left is more of a play zone, with bubbling jets and the slide. The slide starts in the shipwreck and dumps into the far left side of the picture.

The Beach Club is sooo awesome!!! We love staying on the Boardwalk! Have a great trip!!

Do you think that they will be offering any "deals" for switching to BC? We are planning a trip in December and really wanted FQ - we go to different resorts each trip. We are going to split our stay at CB and now I think I would like to try BC, but that is deluxe vs. moderate, etc. Don't want to stay at the other moderates..... Now don't flame me - not looking for freebies, just a good rate.

I am a DVC member at the Beach Club, and the quarterly newsletter states that the pool refurbishment is finished!
They were doing some modifications to the slide.

When I called guest services they told me SAB was done at the end of March. They are still working on the rooms at BC but should be done soon. When the CBR closed last fall people were able to choose between relocating to another moderate same $-or certain upgrades I think Poly, WL and AKL (I didn't see GF, CR, BC/YC or BWI on the list) for about $20 per night extra. Perhaps they will do the same for POFR relocations.

Not sure if BC/YC would be offered or not from POFQ special upgrade price - BC/YC is pretty popular and relatively smaller so there are not many rooms available and the demand for the Epcot resorts seems to be pretty strong
