We're trying to choose a resort for next summer. We did CBR one year. Then did AKL two years later. AKL spoiled us and now we are having a hard time doing anything BUT a deluxe! We have 2 kids....12 and 8. Looking for something kid-friendly but price is an issue, so we won't be able to afford best view or concierge or any of that. We're considering Beach Club or WL, but are open to other suggestions. I know this is a very open question, but any thoughts on this subject is appreciated. Thanks so much.

BC was not our favorite resort. The pool was fantastic and we liked the proximity to Epcot because we go when parks close early so we spend most evening in Epcot. But if we were going in the summer and if our kids were 12 and 8 again, we would probably choose WL or the Poly. Ease of acess to MK would be a priority. Also like the more relaxed atmosphere at WL and Poly. If you choose WL you would be close enough to FW to enjoy what they have to offer. i.e. Backyard BBQ, horsebackriding, evening movies, Hoop de du revue, Trails End Buffet, etc. At Poly we also enjoyed view of castle, Volcano Pool, atmosphere of resort, fireworks from beach, water sprites, monorail, HUGH rooms.

Good luck with your planning.

I think either Yacht Club or Beach Club is a good idea for Stormalong Bay. Do your kids enjoy the pool? Those resorts are usually $10/night cheaper than Poly. Very close to Epcot and Disney Studios.

Contempory garden wings may be less expensive than YC/BC and you still have the monorail, close to MK - if that's their favorite park.

I know how you feel about once you go deluxe. We haven't yet been to the YC (going in Nov) but I have that feeling already.

Thank you for the thoughts. I haven't considered Poly, but now I might...since it still has that beach atmosphere. Kids would love Stormalong Bay, but since we don't have a pool at home they are happy with ANY body of water...so just a big pool may be fine with them. thanks again

We have stayed at the beach club and Poly. Our favorite is the Poly. Yes it might be a little more money but it wins hands down as far as conveience in filling up the mugs and for captain cooks 24 hours snack service. Also there is no comparison with the free childrens activities. Beach club practically offers nothing, where the Poly has (my kids personal favorite) arcade challenge (free video games for one hour 2 days a week, free hula lessons, torch lighting, arts and crafts and movies, this is like 12-3 in the neverland club, (must have a parent accompany them) pool games, saw basketball net up once etc.
