Beach Club vs. Rivera in June

Hello! My family is headed to Disney at staying in a 1 bedroom villa at the Beach Club. We stayed in this exact room in June of 2022 and were very happy. However, we have recently started looking at the Rivera and are thinking of moving our stay to a 1 bedroom villa - preferred view - there.

We love the theming and style of the Rivera. We find the 1 bedroom villa there more appealing with the extra pull out bed and bathroom layout. Our holdback is this - the skyliner.

We are huge Epcot people and love being able to walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. On our last trip, there were frequent thunderstorms (Because, June in Florida.) and the skyliner was frequently down. We would rebook our stay immediately if we knew the skyliner would always run. But our nervous about having to scramble for transportation if we decide to go back to the resort and there is a storm and the skyliner is down.

These are my questions - people that have stayed at the Rivera - especially in June - how much of a bummer is it when the skyliner goes down? Is it difficult to get transportation back from Hollywood Studios and/or Epcot? If given the choice - Beach Club or Rivera in June (And we are not pool people. We are parks people.) where would you stay???

Thank you!!!

I feel like the walk from BC to Epcot is one of the best parts of BC. I think I’d rather just walk than have to deal with the skyliner. I also really liked the boat from BC to HS

Depends what you want to do

The pool at the bed club is way more fun for kids.

Skyliner is pretty cool…. When it isn’t shut down for thunderstorms.
So isn’t just walking to the hotel….

Transportation is a non event if the skyliner is down, they put busses on right away….

I will say the skyliner handles a line faster and better than the busses or monorail….. draw back would be if you are on a scooter or in a wheel chair …. That line can get longer since they have to wait for the right type of cab to come back if they are all one the line ….

In 9 days we had two issues with the skyliner, but weather shut downs, had to walk the extra 1/4 mile to the bus at HS….. would be more of an issue at Epcot because you would be at the wrong gate…

Food at the riviera amazing
Food at the thatch and beech amazing and more options….

Honestly, if you have a June res at beach club I would keep it….

June in central Florida = Thunderstorms = Skyliner down for safety at least some part of the afternoon…..

If you are really worried about the bus / alt transport,
May to Oct I would stay at BC

Oct to May RR….

Kinda like oysters I do NOT go to Orlando in any month without an R in it …..

Either way I’m sure you’ll have a blast

Between the two, for me it is Beach Club for sure in June. The pool is a big factor for us. We all love Stormalong Bay, but also enjoy the 3 quiet pools. We also spend a lot of time at Epcot, so the short walk back is great.

The Riviera rooms are stunning and the food options in the resort are better, but the points cost is much higher.

I think you have pretty much answered your own question..... Being able to walk to EPCOT and HS are the main reason to stay at YC, BC and BW. Truthfully The Riveria while the rooms are appealing the Lobby and other areas are a big miss for us but I will say the CS does have some decent unique options that I hope stick around. Yes the BW area is no prize when it comes to certain things but as I mentioned the one thing that remains consistent is the time it takes to walk for rope drops... Make sure to bring ponchos and flip flops as the walk back from HS can be a wet one in heavy rain and sneakers will soak through.

The 1-bedrooms at RIV are lovely, but I just don't like the location. BCV offers too much of an advantage in terms of walking to EP, boat/walking/Skyliner to DHS and so many restaurants within walking distance. I don't like the sofa beds at BCV, however. Here's hoping they install the murphy beds during the upcoming refurb.

Only reason I can think to make this switch is if you can't handle the aging BC sofa beds or the sad BC views.

I LOVE Riv- but not without the Skyliner. For June I’d go BC, then you never have to care if the Skyliner is down.

They are staying in the villas. They are soft goods refurbishing the villas from now until late April.

So that aging sofa should be gone.

The views? Can’t help that one lol

Agree with prior posts. Beach Club in June! Can’t beat the location and love the whole boardwalk area.

Rooms are 100 times better at Riviera, so do you want to walk into Epcot or not? (We actually think SAB is a tab overrated once your kids are past toddler stage).

Its Riviera for us as we love the Skyliner rides to the parks, better food, and much much better rooms.
