Now that we have had a sneak peak at the new Eagle Pines DVC Resort, I am wondering if there are many DVCers who were planning to add on at BCV who may now change their mind and wait for Eagle Pines?

Personally, I think the Beach Club Villas location adjacent to Epcot is a huge plus and I probably will do an add on there. But I must admit the artist's depiction of the anticipated Eagle Pines Resort did make me think twice!

How do you all feel about this new DVC option??

:)

I can see the reason that people appreciate the location of BWV and would feel the same about BCV. I'm just not one of those.

I like the Boardwalk area and it's easy access to Epcot and to MGM. I visit the boardwalk every time I'm there. For me, though, when I'm at my resort, I like to be away from the activity. For that reason, I purchased initially at OKW and then did and add on at VWL. If, and that is a big if at this point, I do decide to add on at another WDW resort, I would be one that would be more interested in VEP. Now, I don't really fit your original question as I was never really tempted to add on at BCV so VEP isn't actaully swaying me to change a decision.

I've never been to VB or HH. I think that i would like to see these and maybe add on at one of them before adding another WDW resort.

I think I will add on at the BCV only because I own at OKW and that would give me the 11 month window for the Boardwalk area. I also liked the picture of the new DVC resort.

I have to admit the picture of VEP did make me stop and think. We just closed on our 175 VWL points, so thinking about an add-on now is a little daunting. So, being able to wait a few years is definately something I would like to do. I would also like to have the ability to book at 11 months at BCV, but as a previous poster said, I bought at VWL so I would be able to get away from the action, for that purpose, VEP looks very attractive.

To me it is BCV. The one thing that males DVC unique among other timeshares is the themeing and proximituy to all the Disney parks, restaurants, etc. In this respect, I believe BCV, as well as BWV have the greatest advantage of all the DVC properties: Location and themeing (WLV does a great job at the latter as well). I don't doubt EPV will be gorgeous, but to me, they will look like many other great timeshares such as Marriott or Hilton, and therefore, I think I will want to add on at BCV. We'll see though.

I don't think it's a case of BC vs. VEP, people that buy at BC are looking at the pool and at being a handful of steps from EPCOT... those are the two selling points for BC & I suspect people will still flock to the BC......

Now, having said that, I think there is a population of people at OKW that may wind up buying at VEP... Depending on point schedules & buy in costs, I may be interested in selling my own 100 point add on at OKW in order to purchase 100 points at VEP - time will tell if we actually do that, but I would certainly be open to the idea given the artists renderings.... We'll just see....

I am in the process of researching DVC ownership and have gone back and forth on which property to "be home" at. I had been thinking of VWL, (because of being due to sell out) but my heart is at BCV, so I will wait patiently for the opportunity to buy there. One thing I have learned from reading this board, is to select your home carefully. VEP certainly is tempting....the drawings look wonderful and esp. hearing the room sizes will be similar to OKW, but BCV is where "home" will be.

The new resort looks beautiful, but I know we will do an add on at BCV. That will be pricey enough I'm sure. I can't see waiting to buy in 3 years at a much higher price, when we will probably have no trouble, as long as we're flexible, trading our BWV or BCV ressies for stays at the Eagle Pines resort.

Depends if BCV or VEP is DVC2. I am sure a whole new set of booking procedures will apply and DVC2 will be sure to have a big advantage over us original DVC'ers with booking windows and all..

I think this is the same as the old timeless question of BWV or OKW. Now Disney has just upped the ante. Both the BCV and VEP will, I'm sure, be magnificent in their own way. But both offer a different option. I think as a general rule those that favor BWV will lean towards BCV and those of the OKW persuasion will likely lean towards VEP. This just makes DVC a better deal, so many options, something for everyone.

I plan on making this as easy as possible for DH and I. We will do an add-on at the BCV next year (or whenever they start selling) and then once the VEP open up in 2004, we'll have saved some more $$$ to purchase an add-on there as well. LOL!! Why make myself chose eh?! ;)

I think the VEP will be gorgeous, however, dh and I want to do an add on, and I think we will probably buy at either BCV, or a resale at BWV.
we own currently at OKW, since 1997, we have yet to stay there!!! for us it is location, and convenience! we love the BW area! I know many of you love the seclusion and to be away from the hubbub, but dh and I like to be right near everything! we love being able to walk to epcot and mgm!!!
also, we never rent a car! we refuse to drive on vacation!!!! just our feelings! we also don't like to have to bus everywhere (but still prefer it to driving!) which is why we always stay at deluxe resorts, because of the alternate transportation, i.e: walk, ferry, monorail!!! :)

If they put a ferry to MK at VEP, that would make it much more appealing!!!! :)

For us at this point our trips are still all about the resorts, and we don't golf at all, so VEP has no appeal for me. Since we have BWV points I don't need to addon at BCV either.
If they do make it harder to book at BCV or VEP by making them "DVC II", I just won't book there anyhow. We have a VWL addon.
I like being closer to the action.

I am very happy about the announcement of a new DVC resort at the Villas at Eagle Pines. It makes my decision to buy more DVC points very easy. For this elephant it is a no brainer. I will definitly buy another contract at Beach Club Villas as soon as they are available!!!

One of my main priorities at wdw is the Comedy Warehouse, and OKW is the ideal location for me due to it being just a short drive around the corner to get "home". Most of my points are at OKW, with the rest at HH & Vero.

During the day I enjoy laying around Stormalong Bay with a cool drink, and since I have concerns about pool hopping lasting indefinitely, and since I really do not like BW very much, BCV seems like a good place to add some points.

I also love the look of the Eagle Pines resort, but waiting until 2004 is NOT in my plans, lol! I definitely need some BCV points, and since I'm at 900 points now after adding some there it will get increasingly difficult to use those points each year (without being wasteful just to get rid of them), so I don't see myself adding again at Eagle Pines. I will definitely want to stay there at least once, but will happily spend most of my time at OKW.

Of course, if I was closer to retirement I'd get the points because I'd have all the time I needed...but for right now "work" gets in the way!
