I remember reading a while back that BCV was supposed to undergo a renovation this year. Is that still slated to happen?

We just stayed there this last weekend, and I have to say, it needs it. I love the atmosphere of Beach Club, the convenience, the pool, restaurants etc, but the rooms are in dire need of help.

anyone???

staying late sept '14 so would be interested to know that we wont be in the middle of a construction zone...:worried:

All I remember was that when we were at BCV in the fall, there were different sections of carpet in various spots in the hall, so I asked a front desk CM about it. At that time she said the renovation was scheduled "In the spring". However, I haven't heard any more about it.

What was wrong with the rooms? Will be there in 2 weeks -- what should I prepare for? And, is the pool slide open?

I am going to be bummed if SAB is closed when I am there in a few weeks.
The sister I am traveling with loves lazy rivers, and is really looking forward to having one at our resort.

But I have not heard of any renovations happening short term. Usually we do hear at least a month out, if not further out.

Personally, I think they should plan these things at least a year out, so people know about them when they make their reservations.

I might reserve BWV if I knew the clown pool was being renovated, as this almost always results in allowing BW guests to use SAB.

Really, I think that when a resort has the main pool closed, it should result in free use of the water parks. But I don't get to make the rules.

Thinking about booking BCV for the beginning of Dec.....

Anyone have any more info about this?

Also hear that BWV is also "up for renovation and BWV is another possibility for us...

Anyone have any renovation info about either of these???????:confused3:confused3

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!:)::)

Has there been any recent word about BCV going thru a reno? I'm scheduled to take my sister and hubbie in early march (first weekend of F&G) and I have a 2bdr booked. Don't know if I should keep it or try to change it at 7 months to maybe BLT. Just stayed at BWV so wanted something else if a reno is going on.

The YC/BC thread lists upcoming BCV renovations as "breaking news" but no one has any info on dates yet and nothing has been officially announced.

It's very badly needed though..... Ya hear that, DVC?!

I think that the notice is only referring to up coming reno at BC/YC only. I agree BCV does need a refresher.

I do not believe the BCV refurb is scheduled to occur until 2015. Wilderness Lodge and Hilton Head were the only two resorts scheduled for a "hard goods" refurbishment this year.

EDIT: Actually, I take that back. The Fall 2013 issue of Disney Files Magazine referenced the carpet being tested in resort hallways at BCV, and claimed that the refurb would begin in "late 2014."

The post claims that BCV will begin once the majority of BC is complete. Here's hoping!

Seriously.... I don't even want to stay there again until it's refurb'd. My DH is like "don't book us there ever again". I'm like "that's our home resort!!!!". LOL

Fingers crossed!!

I wonder how bad WL was prior to refurb? As bad as BCV? We won't be using our points there for at least two years...here's hoping for a change.

We just stayed at VWL this past year. Not even close. BCV is by far worse. But it doesn't matter which one is worse or not, I thought. The refurb schedule is supposed to be built into the contracts and dues from the get go. I just don't know why it wasn't built in to be more often.

I agree. VWL was spanking new in comparison although I actually do think the condition at VWL was generally good - it was more a matter of decorating taste. BCV shows lots of wear and tear though.

We were just at BCV in June. We were also there in December and last July. It is looking a bit rundown, but you still can't beat the location and the great pool. Although the place is in need of some refurbishing, I never felt the place was not clean which is most important for us - a clean room. BCV will continue to be our first choice.

We have ressies for April 2015 at BCV studio wondering if we should switch at 7 month window, if they start refurb. Will it be posted on the boards, I have been following the BCV thread so I will keep watch. If anyone gets notice let us know Thanks!

We are hoping to get a 2BR at BCV for June 2015. Someone please post any info you may have on here for BCV renos that may be going on during that month and if SLB Pool will be closed during that time.

PLEASE!!! :sad1:

Is anyone at either location now and willing to post photos of what, if anything in the way of renovation is going in at either resort now? We are at BCV in November and just curious...:)
