Beach Club Villas Refurb Renderings!

Yes, that is what others are posting that they have heard. Were you pleased with the condition of your room? :confused3Hope that you had a GREAT time!:beach:

Honestly? I was expecting the studio to be a disaster. But ours was in pretty good shape. A few nicks on the furniture but the bathroom was just fine and all the cabinet doors worked properly. The hallways were in far worse shape than our villa.

Missyrose, happy for you that the room was in fairly good shape. :goodvibesSounds like the "hallways" are "crying" for a long overdue reno! Hope SOONER rather than later!

What I don't understand is the refurb is paid for by DVC dues, not Disney's money. They have collected the money, why hasn't it started? I own at BWV and was surprised that they have done another full refurb, the last one was around 2010. If I was a BCV owner, I would be complaining, something doesn't add up.
Have you ever read the annual report that comes each year in December for the resort where you own points? It gives a timeframe for renovations and replacements. It tells the expected useful life of the various components and the estimated remaining useful life.

I don't understand your point since the BCV has never been updated. Are you saying they expected the life of the various components to still be useful after 13 years of use? I think everyone has a valid complaint about this one.

Have the 2015 BWV right in front of me. Interior refurbishments for BWV is 1 to 30 years. Remaining is 4 to 12. Yet it got the second renovation in 5 years this year.

Exactly. And why does it keep getting pushed back? They should have the money. If it's a matter of workforce, BCV should have come before BWV. I don't have any skin in the game, I own at BWV and have only stayed at BCV for 1 night. Just doesn't seem right.

It was announced at both the annual meeting and also in the Disney files for being this year.

There are only 2 possibilities that make much sense to me for the delay. Either something really slowed down the BC renovation and they will not do both at the same time or, where I find the timing most interesting, is that they needed the rooms to do trades from VWL and their expansion to make more money on development there. Since BCV stays booked up just fine then it could wait a little bit longer. I think OKW waited even longer than BCV is at this point? What I don't get is the BWV second renovation - that's just strange compared to BCV not getting one yet.

The annual meeting report tells the estimated balance for capital reserves, plus how much they need to do any of the capital improvements. Someone who owns BWV should compare the 2014 report to the new one that comes out at the end of the year. Same for BCV.

With the renovations at WL/VWL, maybe they needed to have more villas available and can't lose all the ones from BWV, BCV and VWL at the same time.

Did I read something about how the annual reports for each resort will be emailed to members this year? If so, that would be something useful to store here on the DIS if there is room of course.

Bumping this thread to see if there are any new updates that recent visitors can add.:)

I have no info but am curious how long a refurb typically takes? Meaning if it starts in January how long until completition? June or is that too optimistic?

Checked in today. No refurb work going on that I can see and I walked whole place. Will try and find out more info. Our villa is in decent shape. Light over bathroom vanity not working, called an hour ago for a replacement so far still waiting. Overall like I said decent shape with dings on furniture and paint etc.

Checking in on the 31st and hoping we get a renovated room.
31st of THIS MONTH?:confused3 Based upon what others have been reporting, seems like renovation hasn't begun and is deferred.:goodvibes Would be HELPFUL If you can post once you get to BCV. ENJOY!:cheer2:

We were in BC Villas for the last 8 days 2 bdrm # 158. Wasn't in bad shape at all, a few things here and there, but no big deal.
We walked around the back way to go to Epcot ( my kids called it the secret gate) and they were working on the rooms out that way. I didn't have my camera or phone with me to take pics, but they looked nice. Lots of dark woods and light blues and beige..not beachy really but pretty.

And just to clarify for those that don't know the layout - those rooms you saw are part of the hotel, not BCV. They have never had the same design as the villas.
