Ok, with all the BCV hype, just a poll to see what you think the points might be.

Points will start\remain at $75 when start selling

Points will be $76 when BCV begins selling

Points will be $77 when BCV begins selling

Points will be $78 when BCV begins selling

Points will be $79 when BCV begins selling

Points will be $80+when BCV begins selling

Seems like just a year ago or two, everyone thought resales would go down to $50 or less (no more park passes), now we pray the price doesnt go any more.

I think the opening price level will easily be $80 and probably considerably more. With no new DVC resorts announced, this will be the only game in town at WDW itself for at least 2-3 years.

I have been saying $85 for a very long time. I think they should actually make it higher than $85 so they don't have to make the point schedule ridiculously high.

The increasing of the point schedules is going to start taking its toll and doind us all a diservice.

$80 or more and at least 10% more points than BWV preferred or WLV. I also wonder if the minimum will go up again, but will depend on how VB and HH sales have progressed.

I believe it will be $80/pt or higher base on the fact that points have gone up from $67 last fall to $75 in June. However, if VWL does sell out soon, and they offer a presell of BCV, I wonder if the cost will be at little lower during the presell period. They may start presells at $80 and raise to $85 as Rich states after they actually open.
;) ;)

I think the points will be higher but I'm not so sure about the price going beyond $78 before they start selling. Higher points means more points are required to get a weeks stay which in turns mean more current owners may buy more points. A higher price discourages new sales, increases the price of resales, and is good for existing owners if the associated point value remains the same as BWV...none of which benefits disney much.

With the economy slumping I think that post increase sales are going to slow. Of course DVC only has a sales history in boom years so what will happen in the new new economy is anybody's guess.

I predict an increase between Mar-June to $77-78 with another increase to $80 with the opening of BCV and predict the points chart to mirror BWV(pv) and WLV. Of course if there are pre-sales than I see those steps happening this fall and the first of the year and another in-between.

I also think the next resort will be with a new twist and a change from BWV, VWL, and BCV. Everyone suspects another golf resort and I predict a new theme type with a different architectural scheme than we have seen with the last 3 at WDW. Perhaps not like OKW but closer than the other 3.

I'm a bit torn even in my own opinion. In principle, I agree that jumping to $80+ from $75 in one step seems pretty drastic and it makes much more since to go to say $78 then higher.

That said, I'm not sure when they could do that. VWL is supposed to be sold out in October. I don't see them going to $78 before that happens and I can't see them raising the price with only HH and VB to sell. Although, even as I write that, they might bump the point cost when they get to 90% at VWL. Stretch it out just a bit, waiting on BCV. But that would be so close to the last increase. See why I say I'm torn. It would just surprise me if there was such a big increase to start pre-sales at BCV.

I do believe that the points per stay will be higher than BW(pv) and VWL. I agree that they will have to raise the point costs to keep that difference from being to great. So close to BW, they have to keep it somewhat comparable.

I think those smart suites behind DVC will raise the basic price per point to 80 plus $, but the shocker will be when they raise the points require to stay in a studio passed the 15 per point for a Sun - Thurs stay.

From January 1999 to March 2001 the price has gone up 15% from $65 to $75. I think that an increase of another 15% from March 2001 to sometime in 2002 for a new DVC (with the possibility that the rumored golf WDW DVC will have been anounced) is not unreasonable to Disney. That will put the opening price at over $86.

The recent increases were 3% in May 2000; 8% in Jan. 2001 and 4% in June 2001. That's a 12% increase in the first 6 months of 2001. Maybe $86 is low. If sales don't start until sometime in spring 2002, the increase could be over 20% putting the price at $90 or maybe even the rumored $100 start point.

Pam,

I think you can shorten your time span a little bit. I bought at Boardwalk Villas in June 1999 for $65. a point.
