The owner I am renting points from for Beach Club Villas contacted me to say that she also has points for the same week at Boardwalk Villas if I wanted and that I am welcome to change over. Which Home Away From Home is the better choice? I searched this site and came up with good reviews for both places. Should I keep what I have now or should I switch over to Boardwalk? I only want the best.

Both are nice, but I'd say stay where you are. The kids will love the pool at BCV.

We own at BWV and just got back from our first stay at BCV two weeks ago. DD, almost 12, thought the pool was good, but she liked the slide the most. She is a fish in the water but I still was nervous about her having to walk way around the pool area, and over the public walkway to get to the slide entrance! And the pool area is huge.....so that might be a concern if your kids don't swim well.
We did enjoy the ability to grab a quick bite to eat at the new Marketplace. And having Cape May Cafe right there was nice, since we try to eat there for our last breakfast each trip. But, other than those spots, we had a hard time eating. There aren't all that many spots to eat so the lines are long. At about 3:00 or so, dd and I stood in line at Beaches and Cream for 25 minutes to get just a bowl of ice cream!! I think that BW has better eating options, but that is just my opinion. Others will differ. Overall, we like BW better.

We had the same experience last year at BC.

Don't make yourself crazy! There isn't a significant difference between the two (other than SAB). Both are EPCOT resorts and DVC resorts. The rooms are very similar. You can visit the eating options of either - BCV is just a short walk from the BWV. I'd jsut stay whre you are -

Best wishes -

I agree with Carol. I think your children will love Stormalong Bay and the quiet pool at BCV is very convenient as well.

I think Y&BClub has comparable restaurant choices to those at BW. Yacht Club Galley, Yachtsman's Steakhouse and Cape May Cafe are full service reastaurants. The lounge at the BC also serves snacks and Crew's Cup has become a favorite spot for my family for a casual lunch or dinner. Its menu is sort of like Big River but it has a much nicer atmosphere. Good sandwiches and burgers, an extensive list of bottled beer, even a steak on the menu that our DD enjoyed this past trip. Beaches and Cream is of course hugely popular and now the Marketplace has good sandwiches, pastries and gelato for grab and go. Hurricane Hannah's is yet another choice. BW has 4 restaurants and the bakery. Is there something else there?

I think the only main difference is the pool. BC has an awesome pool! It's way bigger, and that could be a problem, but I found it was easy enough to keep track of the gang, it wasn't really crowded. The best part is the sandy bottom pool, kind of weird but really neat. The kids really got a kick out of it. Plus, who can resist Beaches and Cream being only steps away! :mickeybar

We prefer the BWV. We just find the atmosphere a bit more whimsical, the theming more creative, the "feel" of the place more fun. There are lots of neat little places to sit and relax -- grab a rocking chair and set a spell on the porch and people-watch! -- and the place just feels, somehow, more intimate. More like a B&B than a hotel.

But we enjoyed our stay at the BCV, too. We were there just after it opened, and it still had that "new villa smell." :teeth: Be advised, though, it's a loooooong walk to that legendary pool from the Villas (though there is a quiet pool right there at the Villas that was pretty empty.)

Thank you! I'm going to stick to what I have, plus pay a visit to BWV.

you will be fine!!!

BWV restuarants are not in BWV - they are along the BW - so in bad weather forget them.

you can get to Cape May Cafe (it is in BC) without getting to wet or wind torn. also the marketplace. beaches and cream you have to go outside to get this restuarant/snack shop so I don't know about here in bad weather. but it is easier to get too than anything along the BW.

so if you ever decide to stay at the BWV be sure to come prepared - have some groceries!

At the BCV you can get to all the restaurants without worrying about the elements short of a hurricane. ;) The walkway between the Y&BC lobbies is covered for the whole distance with a nice wide roof. B&C is in this area. Just continue on to the YC to reach YSteakhouse, Crew's Cup and Yacht Club Galley.

Thanks for this information! DH and I are staying at BWV for the first in September for our anniversary (and I think it's one of DH ploys to convince me to buy DVC.... :teeth: ). We didn't know too much about it but your description sounds perfect for us....can't wait to stay there :flower:

I am also trying to decide betweent the two. I read above that the SAB pool is a pretty far distance from the villas. How about the main pool at BWV - is that a hike too. Also, where are the kiddie pools in relation to the villas at each one and do they both have a kids playground?

The far walk to the pool is OK with me as long as I can get a long pool chair and seat next to a juice bar and a restroom. I can sit at a pool for hours. Mark says he'll watch the kids at the pool this time around because of my "condition". He tends to get into conversations with other vacationers and then it becomes a networking session and I end up having to keep up with our kids. So I'm good!

Cadence - I just have to tell you that from your picture you look like Dru from the Young and the Restless.

What a compliment! It must be the hat, the shades and my tan that's throwing you off. I wish! LOL!
