Can anyone tell me if the studios are roomy enough for 2 adults and 2 children.. the children are 9 and 15...so i wasnt sure if the fold out bed is a good idea or not....or do people sometimes get cots?

thanks!!

Jason

Disney doesn't provide cots or roll-away beds. A studio would be tight with bigger kids - it depends on how well you all get along and how much time you'd be spending in the room. :flower:

Are the two kids the same sex? If not, they probably won't want to sleep in the same bed together. And even then, I don't think those couch beds are too comfortable. I've heard that Old Key West has new couch beds (the living room couch in the one bedrooms) that are better than the old ones, though. Don't know if BCV has gotten them yet or not.

You could bring an air mattress I guess.

If you really want comfort, I'd go for at least a one bedroom.

Also, as spiceycat says, OKW would have two queen beds in the studio.

okw studios have 2 queen beds.

I would suggest staying at OKW - if you really want to do a studio.

DVC doesn't provide cots or roll-aways. Four in a studio would be a bit crowded, but do-able, especially if it is your first visit to WDW and not planning on spending much time at the hotel. The biggest problem is that there is only one bathroom.

Hi - I stayed in a BCV studio with 2 adults a 12yr old and a 8 yr old and my 12 yr old slept on the fold out and my 8 yr old slept on the cushions from the couch in between the beds cause he didn't want to share with my 12 yr old.

As far as sleeping, I can't comment since I've only stayed in BCV studios solo. But I have noticed that there's just one sink, whereas most resort rooms have two. I'm not sure about only one sink for 4 people. May work for some, but others are "sink hogs".

If you are trying to save, I think you will do find with the studio. :Pinkbounc

4 people in a BCV studio is a little crowded (2 adults, 13,4) but we will do it for SAB. OKW studio much bigger with 2 beds.

We've never stayed in the Villas just in the regular Beach Club hotel rooms...is there much size difference between the hotel room and a studio?

Another concern is that the vanity doesn't have drawers or shelves. No real good spot to store all the toiletries. Might get a little crowded with everyone's 'stuff' on the counter. We've only been in two studios at BCV (one was a handicapped unit....which really had NO storage in the bathroom) so this may not be true of all units. But I could imagine the whole morning shower routine getting cramped with four !

Having said that, I know that we will stay there again with our two kids (10 and 13) in a studio (to save points) because of SAB !!

Studios are slightly larger than the regular hotel rooms.

DH and I stayed in a BCV studio this year and we found it cramped for just the two of us - only one toilet/sink etc. I wouldn't want to stay there with 2 children any older than toddlers. Just my view.

Studios are slightly larger than the regular hotel rooms.

That depends on the resort. The studios are not as large as the rooms at Polynesian, CR and GF. Truly a noticeable difference.

thanks for all of your comments. I went and booked the Studio. I think it will be fine. We usually stay in the main part of the Beach Club and not the villias. But it doesnt look to be that much different. I think my wife will miss the double sink the most. My girls can sleep together...and to be honest if theres a real problem my wife can sleep on the couch bed...girls can sleep on the main bed ..and ill sleep on an air mattress....its not really uncomortable and we really only goto the rooms to sleep and change from the pool....so keep your fingers crossed....I'm trying to save a little money this trip otherwise id jump at a 1 or 2 bedroom...they look great...

thanks again!!!

I think you will do just fine in a Studio!!! Save that extra $$ for Beaches and Cream!!!!! You can always "splurge" on the 1BR next time if you feel a little cramped.

Enjoy your trip!!!!

I think it is all in your attitude. Considering our family of 4 slept in a tent at FW just a few years ago (before buying DVC), and we had a SUPER time (and we shared a bathroom station with many MANY people), then I don't see how you can have a bad time in a studio if you just go and enjoy the experience.

You will be fine, and I agree, save the points and next time you can either get a larger unit OR you can end up with more trips (we prefer more trips :goodvibes ).

That depends on the resort.
Yes, I meant within the same resort, a la, WL vs. VWL, BC vs. BCV, BWI vs. BWV.

Standing in line for the sink will only get you ready for the parks in more ways then one.
Go and have a great time Disney is all about learning what is besy for you .They have so many choices to try.

I have to agree! We always have a great time and we stay in the studios because we are going BIG! in 2007. We also like to go several weeks at a time and stay weekends and hate moving so a studio is great for us.

Take a shoe organizer for the toiletries and that solves most storage issues. Yes the 1 and 2 bdr's are nice, but people go to WDW everyday and stay in units just like studios and don't know any different.

It's all about the location for us. We just can't get enough of being at the Beach Club. We love relaxing by the pool, the nice access to the boardwalk, and I love walking into epcot via the England entrance....the boat rentals...so i think the studio will be fine...especially since were hardly ever in the room....and im getting a room cheaper than if i booked a moderate!!!! woo hoo...
