I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide between these two. They are so different and in such different locations. I'm leaning toward Beach Club because of it's proximity to Epcot and HS. I have 2 little kids with me, if it makes a difference. Thought they would enjoy Stormalong Bay but also know they would love the animals and experience at Jambo. Thoughts?

How old are your kids? What times of the year is your trip? Will you have hoppers? Do you plan to go to EP and HS?

They are little - 3 and 7. Right before Thanksgiving. There are no hoppers right now, but we do plan to visit each of the 4 parks.

Well the good news is, you can't really make a bad choice here. Theyre both wonderful and if Jambo house was more than 1/5 open, I would say go for that. However, since its not, I would say BC. Keep in mind, stormalong Bay is NOT kid friendly. Its huge, the slides are across the EP walkway. You can't sit in one place and keep an eye on both children, which can be tough. The swallow area with sand is a nice area but note, the "lazy river" gets pretty deep and thats right next to sand area. BCV does have a really great quiet pool though, so don't forget about that. Plus being able to walk to two parks is amazing with little ones.

I would do Jambo AKL savannah. I have two sons (one adult and one is 17) but when they were little .....they were just in awe of that savannah. The pool is great for little ones with zero entry. I personally didn't love stormalong with little ones. Now I love it, because obviously they are on their own haha. sometimes it can be tougher to get to them if you need to (without getting in) some parts of the pool you have to get over a bridge and really walk around. Jambo pool is great but not too big. also the stormalong bay slide is large....as a 7 year old i probably would have felt more comfortable with the jambo pool slide (unless you have a really adventurous child). You really cant go wrong either way though.....just my experience.

Another vote for BCV. Stormalong Bay being open, plus most Jambo locations being closed, proximity to Epcot and DHS, and having the Boardwalk right there would seal the deal for me. I will say, we stayed at Jambo and had a partial savanna view, and it was awesome to watch the animals, in particular a pack of 5 giraffes eating, but for me, there is nothing like staying at a Crescent Lake resort.

We would consider what is open and closed right now. How much time would we expect to spend at the resort and when. The animals is a cool factor, but if you live in a city with a world class zoo it may be a lesser factor. With that said, viewing animal from your room is very cool too. Also, we would think about where we would plan on dining throughout the day; which may be impacted by short park hours. From what I understand of the current state of things (open/closed), I would select BC. More dining options for one. The SAB is another, noting supervision is needed more on the slide end of the pool along with the lazy river, based upon their age; swimming capability is another factor. The third could be the Boardwalk and possibly other items that could be open too. We learned very quickly that food and beverage (i.e., cookie, ice cream, etc.) can brings smiles very quickly to a child's face too within the festive landscape of Disney; along with a relaxing touring walk around the Boardwalk area.

This Thanksgiving, Beach Club. Jambo is only open for the DVC units on 5th floor. No eating, no lobby decor, no check in. Just the rooms and the pool.

You'll be happier at BCV.

I didn't realize so much would be closed at Jambo. Thanks so much for the heads up! My only snag with Beach Club is that I am missing 1 day and I doubt I can get it, but I keep looking. I did happen to see Boardwalk is available so I might do that just for similar location.

Yes - my husband. I would not travel with my 2 crazy kids without him!

Ahh, ok, cool, couldn’t tell with your original description. I’ve taken my two kids to BC/YC and Storm-along Bay solo around that same age - and while I love SAB - it’s a handful keeping tabs on both of them there. But with two, divide and conquer!

You are much braver than I!

SAB is a real nightmare for parents of smaller children. There are very deep areas with swift currents, plus lots of places to look around. You little one might enjoy the more shallow sandy play area over on the YC side. If your seven yr old isn't an excellent swimmer, SAB may turn your hair gray (or make you pull it out).

I may have missed how long of stay you are planning, but have you thought about a split stay? We were contemplating this very thing for our spring 2021 trip. We were able to book 3 nights at the Beach Club and 4 nights at Animal Kingdom (with a savannah view). Disney is still doing luggage transfers so we can check out in the morning, go to the park and return to the new resort for check in with our luggage waiting at the new resort.
