So, just how bad are the standard views at the Beach Club?

Most are pretty bad. Some are not so bad.
Ya, that is what I was thinking. I don't think that there are any standard views on the ground floor, right? So when I do the on line check-in and just put down one request of ground floor, you think they might grant me that, even though those views aren't on that floor?

We stayed on the 3rd floor. I forget the room number. It was a full balcony and faced the roof but to the right you could see the Epcot ball.

Honestly the room view didn't matter to me. SAB and the proximity to Epcot were enough for me.

Ok, so there are standard view rooms on more than just floors 2 and 3?

Yes, there are many on the 4th floor facing the parking lot on one side and overlooking rooftops facing Stormalong Bay on the other side.

The pictures in the thread are dependent on where the people who posted have stayed.

There are also Standard View rooms on the 5th floor, but those are club level.

:)

Standard views at the Beach Club are all of roof tops or parking lots. None on the first floor. Requesting 1st floor is unlikely to result in a better view. You should book what you want to stay in.

Right. But I might try. Possibly going during one of the slowest times of the year, so its worth a shot.

So you are planning another trip? Your recent one must have left a better taste in your mouth. That's good.
Have Fun

When we were in a standard room, I was told that no 1st floor rooms were in that category, because you would be looking at some sort of grassy area or water It was all good, though. We were happy to be there, and on the go so much it didn't matter.

For what it's worth, it's a minimal financial difference between standard and garden views.

When we stayed there,(probably garden view, I forget) it was a view of trees. Private, and just lovely.

We requested a room near Epcot. It was pretty far from the lobby, but very close to the barely-marked back entrance.

We requested lower floor near the elevator but got 3rd floor and about 6 rooms down from the elevator. Our room didnt have a bad view but had one of the tiny balconies.
Looking straight ahead

Looking towards the left

Um, we had a standard view on the ground floor.

We didn't make any requests.

The view was of grass and a path. I didn't take any pictures, sorry.

If you booked a standard room on a cash reservation, chances are really strong that you will be placed in a standard room. You generally won't beat the system through room requests. If you booked through a DVC rental, chances are near 100% you'll be placed in a standard room.

Well, that will be my only request. I was going by Touring Plans room views, and I now realize they are way off.
